Kup & Wheelie re-issue...

Recommended Posts

You were probably seeing the "Dion" repaint that came with the ehobby "Orion Pax".... that one is yellow.  The wheelie that comes with the Targetmaster Kup is the same as the original except the face is gray w/blue eyes compared to the original which was all orange.

No no no!

The Dion repaint is yellow with blue feet and comes in a G1 style box. The original Wheelie is light orange with dark orange feet. This one was yellow woth orange feet!

*Is now gonna have to buy the sodding thing just to set his mind straight*

edit:

My missus (eyewitness #2) has just confirmed that I'm not a total smackhead. She said "It was definitely yellow, [i made a point of pointing it out to her,] but it could be construed as a very slightly orangy-yellow. It's a lot more yellow than the original."

(She knows the original well enough, as she often places it in various torture positions; in Trypticons mouth, hanging from the lights, being stamped on by her Action Man, etc!)

Eyewitness #3

The missus's Bruv Karl: "It was yellow. Stop arguing with your geeky friends about something so trivial and talk about World peace"

(Obviously NOT a fan of TFs, but he does like wrestling!)

I'm guessing the one you saw then was either a factory error or if it was just a picture it wasn't exposed right.  I've got the original and the reissue, they're the same in every way except the face is painted on the reissue, the screw that attaches the legs doesn't get in the way and lets the legs go all the way down, and the autobot symbol has a cleaner cut. (oh, and Taiwan is replaced with China... but every reissue has that).

I saw it in the flesh, so I suppose factory error (or a good quality KO) is the answer. But the thing that really got me thinking was the picture in the link I posted earlier. So I think there's more than one of these about.

I've got the e-mail address of the bloke who was selling it, so I'm gonna see how much he wants for it.

PS

I know some people here may be thinking "Stop smokin' thet crazy sh*t & tryin' to bluff us!" but I swear this ain't a wind-up. I'm kind of excited that I may own a "rare" Wheelie variant...

...well whoopie-sh*t!!!

I'd like to add that my wife is looking over my shoulder as I read this and said Wheelie looks like a happy meal toy. :tdown

My missus thinks the same (see quote!)  :thumb

And she nicked my RID Scourge for about 2 months, so she's got taste!!!
