I don't think the flame graphic would look good on a Fort GT (alt mode).  One thing I really like about the Alt line is that it is a nod to G1, not an exact duplication of it.  I think if Hasbro/Takara did a red GT and were to name him Hot Rod, I would like to see the double white sports stripe or something like that.  Also, I like for the Autobot symbols (for the Alts) to be more concealed in alt mode (the police vehicles can get by I think because the faction symbol looks like part of the police graphic [it looking like a badge]).  \

 

I do think this would be a good mold for an Alt Hot Rod though, but I don't think the name is applicable (a Ford GT isn't a "hot rod" per se).  I guess I'm kinda mixed on this guy being an Alt.  Maybe if he were simply named "Rodimus" I wouldn't mind. 

why the hell haven't they made a Hot Rod Alternator yet?  He would be perfect for that "Optimus" body.  I thought the point of the MP Prime was to kind of go along with the BT line, it seems silly to have an Optimus truck.  But i'm sure that's been restated here many times.

 

 

Oh by the way that digibash looks awesome.  I wish it was in stores right now.

i agree, it is a good nod to g1. much like tracks and the flames sticker you should have the options to put it on or not. i like my cars to look normal and blend in with a crowd. which leads me to the concealment of the autobot symbol. i also agree, if youre an autobot and want to be in disguise and hide from the decepticon (go undercover) you don't want to flash a big red symbol and say here i am.

 

i really want to see what mirage will look like and i'm hoping that one of the 4 new mold remaining will be hot rod or rodimus (doesnt matter is name as long as he looks cool)

Well I think that they`re trying to desguise themselves from the humans not the Decepticons since whenever the Decepticons attack the Autobots transform and fight back revealing thier true form. So that`s why I don`t mind them having the Autobot emblem in Alt mode. Here`s his Alt mode w/ the orange hood and flames.

Having the orange hood panel looks odd.  I think it would look better with Energon Rodimus's more subtle gold flames on dark red, instead of the exact G1 toy flame decal.

i'm not sure i like that. the entire car is red except for the hood. maybe the hood can flip some how and then reveal the flames and symbole in robot mode, or maybe add some flames the the side (like skids) or even on the roof.
