TCS #21 Broadcast

Recommended Posts

I wonder why the mention of TFC-10 and TFC-19 in that Blaster pic??  Can anyone read this and translate it please??

I'll definitely be pre-ordering this guy.  I don't even like him, but I want to eventually collect all the pre-movie bots so I might as well get him now at regular price instead of watching him skyrocket like Soundwave did.

Think I've figured out most of it.  Just beware my lousy japanese..

If I'm interpolating correctly, the title text just says:

"Transforms from/into Stereo Radio Cassette!"

"TFC-21: Broadcast"

"Function: Communications"

The NEW text over the first Steeljaw pic just says, "NEW Cassette bot!"

"Steeljaw (temporary?) lion kara cassette he henkei."

"Steeljaw - transforms from cassette into lion?"

(Not sure what the parenthetical means.  Maybe it's only tentatively Steeljaw.)

The TFC-19 is a typo since it says:

"TFC-10 Soundwave, TFC-19 Soundblaster ni mo ireraremasu."

which I think just means to collect Blaster along with Soundwave and Soundblaster.

The red text beneath each pic is probably a copyright of some kind.  Says, "Reprint Prohibited".  (which of course is why we're seeing it all over the Interweb.  =)

The bottom black text seems to be a disclaimer stating the final toy may look a little different from the current pictures.

Hope this helped.

meh... im just kicking myself wishing i had purchased a re-issue Soundwave before the prices skyrocketed up into the 80-120 figures.

That line is in reference to Steeljaw- he can fit into both Soundwave and Soundblaster's chest. (in other words, he is the same size as Ravage, Laserbeak, etc.)

Ahhhh.. I guess they felt it wasn't a sufficiently obvious selling feature..

I see where I went wrong too -- didn't interpret "ireru" as "fit in" -- didn't seem to make sense with Blaster.. ~_~

cool i can always do with more g1 reissues

Going to get him for sure. I wish he came with Ramhorn or Eject/Rewind as well. I am really liking the tapes even though I only have Lazerbeak.

What tape(s) did Blaster/Broadcast originally come with, if any?

And I also am lamenting having not picked up Soundwave when he was "pricey" at his original price of $50-$60.  Of course, now, *all* the pre-movie reissues are jumping up in price, and even the movie bots probably will too.

I wonder how likely an e-Hobby repaint/retool of Broadcast actually is?  Neither Soundwave nor Soundblaster received any special treatment from e-Hobby, even though there arguably was a 'different' Microman version of Soundwave.

Even though I love Blaster (one of the TFs that I never had when I was a kid), I'm not sure I'd actually pick up a Twincast reissue.  Frankly, I always found his color scheme to be hideous.  Reminds me of those 'My First Sony' tape decks and whatnot that they came out with in the late 80s.  I'd rather see Tomy/Takara put out a gift set or reissue of the Dinobots, or something.  :tfevil  (I've heard that the molds are broken, but one can always hope...)
