I just want a DECENT cartoon!!!!

Is that so HARD for them to come up with.

Enough with the kiddie stuff.  HBO presents Transformers the series.  Kinda along the lines of say Spawn, or Ghost in the shell SAC.  Its got its moments with the girls, but its got substance, and action, and violence, as well as well drawn stuff.

I guess I understand where you're getting at...a really mature TF series aim at adults. Yeah, it is hard bc TF is for kids...but definitely a very nice idea.

The kiddies can have the main stream TF's, give us the more adult, hard core TF series for the Alts (which do not have a series to carry them at all yet).

What part of untapped resource do you not understand?

I would HATE to see a cross over series where Alts were in the same universe as say Energon.

Look at Gundam for example, they had the main stream line and the line of super deformed.

I love Gundam but toy-wise it's dead in North America.

Strictly from a financial point of view.

Alts are for collectors. A show mainly serves as advertising. They already have our undivided attention. Why would they spend the money on producing a show?

A comic would be more feasible but they don't have the 2D property rights for them all (if any). Sorry to burst bubbles and expectations but that's the way it is.

I want an Alternator show. Not necessarily 'mature'. Just well written. But the magic 8 ball says all signs point to no.

Back before the G1 toon hit the air waves, the toys were sitting on the shelves.  When the cartoon hit BAM everyone wanted one.

All these years later, collectors and the likes complain about how limited the robots were and all that...

Now we have probably the best Transformers we are going to get, the Alts and or Binal.  And a lot of them sit there as shelf warmers because for 1, they are not sponsored by the cartoon.  Yea they cost a little more than the average $7 item, and are a lot harder to transform than the smaller ones (chime in with scale, compatability and all that while we are at it)

Bottom line, if there was a series that promoted these alts, we'd have an even harder time getting our hands on them.  And why not have these harder to transform collectables have a heavier and better story line and or series.

Movie's coming out, it'd be nice if they reworked MTMTE or something along those lines, rather than the wacked series we have been getting.

Beastwars had an edge with a deeper story line.  Drop all the historical stuff and making stuff up, and run with a new MTMTE styled series, classy cartoon (which in its self would be a saught after product) and let us fans get out hands on all that.

Ok, venturing into territory I don't have all the 411 on.  Been watching really good series like Ghost in the shell, and Cowboy bee bop for a couple years now.  Awesome series, with as far as I know a very limited collectable line if any.

Now you mean to tell me that there isn't artists in the business and producers that would not LOVE the chance to do a new series for a more adult market?  Not sure what the rival co's and the deal making with the buying of the rights and all inhibit but some have to figure (and if after the movie comes out no one gets it, they never will) that we have a lot of potential here, make it.

I'm not actively trying to shoot down your dream. It's also my dream and a lot of others. But you lack perspective.

It's not a matter of them not wanting to do a mature show. From the Botcon news Takara seems to be taking a break from the show side anyway.

Here's the reality (again). 1: It costs money that won't necessarily spur more sales. They already have that audience locked down - us. 2: Legal issues.

The alts that do shelf warm are the ones people are lukewarm about or everyone's already got one. Don't overestimate the fan market. We're vocal but don't let that fool you.

And the current rerelease in Canada is not shelf warming. Heck I can't even collect the bloody things.

ok.  then what's the movie gonna be based on?  Energon?  Rid?  GF?

They gonna use the CG Characters from the cartoons then?

See I did think ahead, and after the movie comes out, I assume they will want to do it with real people, live action, with CG quality characters like in that car commercial...which costs a TON of money.  And hit the market with a more serious toon, parallel to what ever series we go up to, what's next Transformers Megaverse, the return of Unicron the key master, and Primus the gate keeper.  Oh wait that's ghost busters...

high end cars would sell more if they had the commercial/toon to go along with it.

But with everything else, lack of justice in the world, they probably will bring us the Sailor Moon Transformers series no matter what.

If they don't come up with a way to boost the shelf warmer alts, they might cancell the line all together and cut back to the main stream.  I for one passed on most of the latest series, and I have collected just about everything I could get my hands on in the past.
