I just got Star Convoy and I would love to know what the red accessory does. I could not find it in the instruction manual. I mean, it is listed as an accessory, but I didn't see pictoraly what it does. Of course not understanding Japanese doesn't help either. Does anyone happen to know? [i'm sure if you can supply a picture, it would help]

Er, you mean Micromaster Hot Rod?  That's the only red thing that comes to mind.

nope.. there is another red piece in this reissue that has two openings. It seems like something goes in one end, and something else the other; and when you turn one end it turns the other too. I do not know, thats what I want to figure out!

As i suspected  It's to connect Star Convoy to one of the other toys from the line such as Grandus or Sky Garry.

bingo.. that is correct, that is the piece. However, they do not show how it connects in the manual. Does anyone have an idea?

The connector is actually  more like a driveshaft ......  notice that if you turn the three pronged gear at one end, the gear turns at the other end.

 

 

I  could only find one place it attatches .....  below the on/off switch on the motorized unit, there's an semi-exposed gear which fits to the connector.

 

 

My guess is that when you connect the connector to Grandus, it operates a mechanism on Grandus.

now why would Takara include the connector to Grandus? don't tell me they're actually going to reissue him...

that is exactly it... thanks!!! now they just have to reissue grandus so I can use the part ! :)

trust me, you don't want a reissue Grandus. he makes Armada Overload look like Masterpiece Convoy by compairsion.
