Your're not missing much. What he did was very easy.

I however sniped a loose complete Deathsaurus just this week.

Yeah me!

easy, huh?  how can I do it?

lol... I had that on my watch list too, but I decided that it wasn't worth it after "gothgirl" kept raising the price on it.

Lordy, I can't understand why more people just cant wait and bid at the end, instead of increasing their bid throughout the auction. It just raises the price up too high.  :roll

Like it was already said, you aren't missing much - it looked like it needed another dip in the black dye, and some more gold apps. If you are going after the look of the Black Fire Convoy, why not just do it the rest of the way?

Effective sniping is also about choosing your auctions carefully. If you're dealing with some tard who keeps bidding it up for no reason, odds are you're gonna have a harder time of it. Bidding wars are usually something to avoid, because people start making irrational choices. And you don't want to end up paying $180 for something that's only worth $40.

hypothetically speaking, of course :redface

ooh, i think i might do that to mine.

I love how people will drive up the price of the auction for the seller, and then the seller comes back to you and offers you the second chance offer.

I always refuse the second chance offer, because I assume that in cituations like that, the seller has someone driving up the price and expected you to keep bidding and then when you stop they are left having to accept the last price you put in, and then offer you the second chance offer to try and save the sale.

It is just dishonest.

It is a numbers game, literally. Sniping is all about knowing how much you are willing to pay for something and having the discipline to NOT go over that amount, no matter what. It doesn't matter if you put the bid in in the first minute of the auction, or in the final seconds. People focus on it as "sniping", the act of bidding in the final seconds, way too much. Anybody can bid over you if they want and if they do then it is their problem for paying more than you were willing to pay.

put in the highest bid you are willing to pay right away and if you lose just move on to the next auction. It ain't rocket science.  ;)

I was asking how he made the custom.  :P  but thanks anyway.
