Then again, a StarScream wouldnt be bad either, he could have Megs communicator on one arm and a Prime one on the other, so him and Prime can talk

since we have an autobot, and we can have no guarante of a megs (it would take a long time to convince the necessary people) we should have Starscream and have him come with his sorronation gear from the movie.

I agree. HIs plane wouldn't be to scale with MP Prime's truck, but that's a moot point. And masterpiece Megs couldn't be a gun for legal reasons...so I want a MP Starscream next...with corronation gear and energon cubes.

 

THEN a MP Rodimus and Galvatron...perhaps to be released next year...after all...it is the year 2005.

 

MP Rodimus should have interchangable Hot Rod/Rodimus parts (head/trailer thingee) and give MP Galvatron a chunk o' Unicron to stand on and a chain for Rodimus' matrix to hang around his neck.

Thanks MC! and to everybody for their feedback; I really wanted to know how close my vision is to my fellow TFan! I'm diggin all the ideas here. We are the ultimate voice when it comes to what the consumer wants so let's keep it up!

Realistically, the choices are limited to very well known G1 characters. The likes of Shockwave, Jetfire, etc, aren't really known by the public at large in the same way that Optimus Prime is.

 

IMO the only characters that are likely to be recognised outside the TF fandom are Starscream, Grimlock, Soundwave, and Megatron.

 

Megatron's out, for scale and gun law reasons. Grimlock would be cool, but I'd prefer a Decepticon before him to counterpoint MP Prime, so we're down to Soundwave and Starscream. Although you could have mini MP cassettes with Soundwave, a bot that turns into a large diecast tape player might not be too exciting.

 

So, that leaves Starscream. We should also bear in mind that the G1 jets were particularly blocky and unposeable, so the opportunity of a MP Screamer to correct this would be good.

I think the MP line should do a Rodimus Prime next, though since it does have to include his trailor, I dont see him being of the same size as MP Prime. He would have to be packaged in his Alt mode and not his robot mode. Galvatron would be my second choice.

 

Off topic, kinda, do we ever see what is inside Rodimus Primes trailor in the cartoon or comic?

You know, I hear alot of complaining about gun law this and size problems that. But you know what... I want MP Megatron. If he can't transform then so be it. I have an MP sized megatron gun already it came with my MP Prime. But if they have to make his barrel Orange so be it. Give him a seperate piece for the cannon arm that can't attach to the gun mode. Hey if Prime can have two grills, Megs can have to barrels.

I dont remember that, thats why I asked. I have watched all of season three now, and nowhere in it does it transform. Though I havent read all the comics other then the Marvel run. So no idea. Just curious is all.

We gotta have Megs, to face off against Prime. Here's a few thoughts on how to do it:

 

1) Make him non-transforming but highly detailed and articulated. Include a miniature of his alt mode like the one that came with Prime.

 

2) Make it so that his transformation produces a gun large enough to not fall under the weapon-lookalike laws.

 

3) Give his alt mode an orange barrel, but have it hidden in robot mode.

 

4) Take steps to make the alt mode not accurate enough to be a gun--don't include the trigger, etc.

 

There's gotta be a way to do it!
