Because they dropped the ball in Armada and called a Decepticon Wheeljack, so they don't want any confusion from the younger fans.

you know, it's my personal belief that E-Downshift was suppose to be A-Wheeljack with a new autobot body but for whatever reasons, some one decided to make him an all new character instead.

The true story behind that, as supplied by Aaron Archer, is that the figure had already been concepted as Downshift during the early design phases.  As the figure began to adapt, and fully take shape, it eventually began to look like Wheeljack, but by that time,  it was a bit too late in the production process to be bothered with changing the name, so they didn't.

 

So in A/E/C continuity, the Wheeljack-looking character is Downshift.  Deal.  He's only Wheeljack in appearance, anyways, so it's not as big a deal.

'Hotrod Repaint of Hotshot (Excellion). '-  This should be the version of Hotshot that's the closest to G1 Hot Rod.  And they'd better include the flames.

It does have flames and the tires are regular black tires, not red.  I'm eating crow on this one....and hating it.

I'm glad to be getting more beast figs, but why are they going to redo optimus and megs,.....the rm figs are great molds with some better paint they'd be awesome. they really need to redo rhinox, waspinators head and cheetor.

The reason they're redoing Prime and Megs instead of the RM ones is:

 

1) They're too small. 

2) Aaron Archer apparently disliked their RM incarnations.  Alot (as in Hate).

3) They're rather cheap looking.

4) What we're going to get is apparently a helluva lot better, reportedly with an amazing level of detail, a much more appropriate size (I'd imagine modern-era Deluxe, as opposed to BW era Deluxe), and overall much sharper looking, period.
