tfs you shoudntv opened

Recommended Posts

has anyone out there spent alot of money on a tf, and then opened it for play or display? but then immedietly regreted it? i have a few times. i think to really enjoy a toy you have to open it. and im not even real big on buying a toy twice just because it was so great you needed one open and one sealed. toys are meant to be opened. that being said im about to condradict myself.

i got the black sl rodimus and fireguts sl convoy(thats what i call him) a while back and obviously opened the pair. i must say they are very beautiful toys that had to be opened to be fully appreciated. but i find myself wary to even transform them because i think i veiw them as over-fragile due to the price they demand. what if i break them? ill never buy them twice for sure. so now i find myself wishing i never opened them. keeping them for my *very* limited sealed collection of tfs. the same goes for my ehobby astrotrain and red exillion. i feel almost the same way about my botcon cyclonus, but the feeling quickly passes because hes to good to leave sealed. and i almost never buy a tf with the intentions of keeping it sealed. and i dont have any intentions of selling any part of my collection. so im not in it for the money.

i think the only figures i have sealed are my tru reissues, and a tm2 dinobot. then from g1 to cybertron, everything is opened and enjoyed.

I think the only figures I would keep sealed would be Lucky Draw items. It wouldn't be for financial reasons, but, like you said, I would be afraid of breaking them.

i dunno.... black fire convoy would be awsome to see out of a box and in your hands. but yeah. id be trembling with fear of hurting it.

If I got my hands on the chromeplated "Primus" repaint of Rodimus Prime, I think my head would explode with indecision.

aaahhh my G1 Victory Leo.  I have no regrets opening it, per se, but i regret snapping off a landing wheel on his chest within a few days of opening him.  I was in disbelief that i had broke it.  so sad....

no regrets! There were a few Japanese ones that i almost had second thoughts on, but most of them come in nice trays that are easy to put back in box.

I know what you mean and usually end up selling what I cant bring myself to open like my Botcon Cyclonus.  One reason I like prototypes is that there is no box and I can have a really good look at them ;)
