Was TF Show on SciFi Channel?

Recommended Posts

Well Hasbro might want to rethink those rights to Cartoon network since they are constantly trying to kill the transformers franchise.  And to top it off have cancelled great shows like Justice League.

They've always been tight with 4Kids. They even looked into BUYING 4Kids Entertainment a few years ago. Maybe if Sigma 6 does well for Hasbro, they'll move the next TF cartoon back to broadcast network TV.

in the uk i hope they decide to give the tf franchise to channel 5 rather than itv, itv only showed the first half of armada and then stopped

channel five when they got beast wars from itv they played the entire thing all the way through, i was happy because itv only ever showed it during bankholidays and you missed parts cos they'd continue it on digital

Yeah I too remember seeing that on before school, it was before 96 though I remember that much, it was on real early, and remember afterwards they showed flash gordon and his crew which featured the phantom, cant remember the exact title of that show.

Yeah it was on in the early mornings, I remember getting up and watching the episodes, for some odd reason though they would skip an episode after Friday, don't know if it came on Saturdays as well, but I remember one week watching the first part of FFoD and then come Monday we jumped an episode to Part 3

Just like now, when on SG-1 night, they'll play 4 old episodes, but often will play one part of a "To Be Continued" and then not play the second half, but play a different episode instead.

Sci-Fi is bad for that.

Oh, and off-topic... you know those CGI station bumpers they have from time to time now, like the old lady dumping a bucket of water on her head and turning young again, or the little kids practicing with thier magic wands in the backyard?

Well, WTF is up with the one where the guy inflated a dog into a balloon animal by blowing up the dog's ass?  That one STILL creeps me out every time I see it... and I have a pretty high tolerance for the sick and twisted. :wtf

I didn't know it was that old either. The first time I saw it was when they were doing a weeklong anime movie thing. It was great because that happened to be the week I was at my grandparents house and they had satellite.

So that week I watched Akira, Gall Force, Roujin Z, Ghost in the Shell and one of the Tenchi movies. It was awesome. Too bad they don't do that anymore. I think this was around 1995 or 96. Can't remember exactly.

FWIW:  The SciFi channel started broadcasting in 1992.

yeah, I didn't think too much of that commercial either. I wonder if SciFi channel even realized exactly what they're advertising with that one?

And yes, I remember the Transformers G1 series on SciFi. I was pissed when they took it off. BTW, good thing they moved cyybertron to WB before CN killed it.

Yeah I remember when SciFi used to show G1, it was 96-97. i would wake up like 330-4am(whatever time it was on, soemtimes they switch it from 330 to 4, viceversa) just to tape it daily, and go back to bed, Talk about being a hardcore TF fan :thumb

Oh yeah it was during this time when they showed the last 3 eps of G1, the Rebirth eps, that I FINALLY got to see the new opening for the 87 season. When I was like 9, I only got to see the Rebirth eps during the 89 season(PM Prime with that kid)

I had no idea the SciFi channel was that old. I only recently got the channel in my area and just assumed that was when it kicked off.

Oh man you missed out on its golden years, it was like a Tech tv type station.  I remember Scifi buzz(a show geared towards geeks) Inside space, Mysteries from beyond the other dominion(LOVED that show) from 95, a small web company named Cnet had its shows broadcast on Scifi and USA, a precursor to Tech Tv. I hate that Scifi is now reruns of recently scifi shows, and Star Trek. Altho they occassionally show WonderWoman,Batman

most and all the "scifi original " movies seem to always suck when i look at the commericals, and then i realise theyre all made in Canada and I laugh because the acting in those movies are atrocious.
