Energon vs. Superlink: Scorponok's origin

Recommended Posts

Last night I just finished watching Superlink and I've only seen about 10 episodes of Energon, but I noticed some changes I would like more info on.

What was Scorponok's story in Energon? I know they gutted the Superlink one.

Also, how does it link to Cybertron? Superlink leaves the slate clean and Galaxy Force is atleast not directly related (I've seen the first few episodes.) I've read that the black hole in Cybertron was caused by the destruction of Unicron, but in Superlink atleast he wasn't destroyed, just transformed into a sun. So what is the conclusion to Energon?

id like to know the end myself, f#$!ing cartoonnetwork didnt show the last episodes so im totally lost on the ending..now i have to wait until they put the whole series on dvd

Well for Superlink, Galvatron G, Nightscream and Shockfleet all went into the sun b/c Unicron was starting to take controll...and NO ONE controlls Galvatron G...

And everything ends all nice and well...Sunny (unless you are a Destron)

And in Galaxyforce it is revealed than the Grand Black Hole is from the absence of a Great Evil from another dimension.

Actually one of the things I really really enjoy about GF is that it puls a ton of ideas from the G1 comics (Primus, Hop turning golded when being an avatar and afew other things). They even say that the evil was destroyed by something similar to galaxy convoy's matrix.

I don't know how they are doing it with Cybertron...

I caught the last two eps of Energon and they were chopped/condensed versions of the Superlinks. The only change is that Ironhide is yet again not allowed in Energon to grieve over his fallen enemy. Also the cell animated fight scene was horribly clustered and chopped (still frame, freeze ups and not so fluid as the Superlink version).

The tie in to Cybertron is that the grand black hole is the effect of Unicron's implosion which is good because that is the theoretical effect of a planet's destruction. Also it ties up that megatron created his armor out of unicron's body and absorbed some of his power. We're not given much on his powers as is in Galaxy Force so the Cybertron write up is actually beneficial.

I know Superlink/Galaxy Force, I want Energon/Cybertron.

unicron's destruction = super galvatron A: taking himself, starscream, and mirage into the sun(unicron) to not let unicron take control, B: at some point in time unicron is destroyed ?? leaving a big black hole and super galvatron kills himself along with starscream and mirage for the greater good and in this destruction someway absorbed some of unicrons power, redesigned his body with unicron parts escaped a black hole and is now ready for universal domination...so 1.does starscream have some of unicrons armor too, or did megatron reformate him from the left over pieces that got detroyed in the sacrifice, 2. why didnt he reformate mirage into a newer decepticon ( my chioce a new cyclonus),3. why didnt he continue to call himself galvatron,4. i thought that after he bathed in the super energon he was indesructable alone with starscream

* the above questions are valid in the fact that i know they already had cybertron planned so bare with me*

What about Scorponok's backstory in Energon? What was it?

In Super Link, its revealed in Episode 33 (not aired in Energon) that the Scorponok we see is actually a fake: the real Scorponok's spark was destroyed when Alpha Q's planet was devoured. When Alpha Q resurrected Scorponok at the end of Episode 3, he used the spark of a wandering Decepticon solider as the template and programed him to act like the orginal Scorponok (think Beast Machines when Silverbolt's spark was reprogrammed into Jetstorm). This Decepticon spark was why Megatron refers to Scorponok as a traitor as he sensed the Decepticon essence from him

This isn't why he's loyal to Megatron during the second half of the series. Scorponok does not believe or know what free will is, he needs a master and that master is who gives him life. When he was resurrected in Episode 3, Alpha Q was his master. When he died in 26 but was resurrected by Megatron in 28, he took on Megatron as his master. This is why he seems to recognize Alpha Q before and when he dies he utters "Please...Our Planets". Scorponok was NEVER mindwiped at all.

Yes, but what was the explanation in Energon. I've seen Superlink.

scroponok in energon was revived after alpha Q's planet was destoryed he followed him till megatron deactivated him during unicron battle 1 and that dementsion rift appears he gets revived and is programmed to obey megatron till ironhide and him duke it out they talk and scroponok takes ironhide to give his spark of combination to prime to face galvatron scroponok dies then my guess is they chucked him into space and during megatrons return to cybertron scroponok absorbs power of unicron to become dark scroponok but he can't remember what happened during energon so and out to find out what
