It helps not to post it twice in News and Rumors. :tflaugh

That's good to hear- but no widescreen. :(

Am I lame for getting so excited about the possibility of widescreen that I'm actually disappointed now?

No...I was doing the same.

I only buy widescreen format movies and stuff. LETTERBOX'D

For those of you who can't be bothered to go over to the Allspark for details, the deal with the letterbox thing is that Mainframe produced the show with widescreen in mind but actually only "finished" the non-letterbox bits of it. So Rhino would have to go back and do all of the cleanup work, editing, etc., that Mainframe would normally have done for them. Apparently it would have simply proven to be too expensive. The first two episodes were shown at BotCon in widescreen, according to some, but it looks like that doesn't change the situation. Before you start complaining, though, keep in mind that Rhino has gone out of their way to (literally) fill up the DVDs with interviews and commentary. So it's not like we're getting screwed.

Or so I keep having to tell myself.  :tflaugh  :redface

I swear, some of you people think that because it won't be widescreen that it's the end of the world.  Seriously, be glad we're getting the series at all.  If you're going to let this whole thing disappoint you then why bother?  Rhino is giving a lot of extra features with it.

Personally, I could careless.  It would be nice to get widescreen, but I don't want Rhino to go WAY out of their way just to have that happen.

I can't help being disappointed -- there was the possibility that we would see something really awesome, and now we aren't. We haven't lost anything, but it's still kind of a "DANMIT".

However, if the show wasn't *directed* with widescreen in mind, then it may not be much of a loss. Not much point in a widescreen presentation if the edges of the screen are going to be static.

^i agree whats the point if thiers going to be a whole lot of nothin on each side

I am just happy to finally have it on DVD.

It should have been released like 12 months ago.  :tflaugh
