BT Broadcast aka Blaster

Recommended Posts

I seem to recall reading somewhere that Skids was getting released in two paint jobs, similar to Tracks. The silver one is the one that's the car's signature colour, and the Blue on is the character accurate version.

Not Blaster, well I don't think so. On all the other redeco's they at least made a new head mold.

Do you remember seeing the Black Skids. http://www.fantofan.jp/earlybirdsp.htm

Scroll down. the preorder says Blue and silver but you can still see the Black skids on display.

I thought that was just a test shot in time for the convention and not the final colours.

Yeah Fantofan reported that the black wasn't final colors.

We'll probably see the BT* repaints in Alternators if Hasbro thinks the character will sell - see: Sunstreaker.

suxx :tdown

Blaster had a lot of gray on him, but it was all on his legs. Having a gray car body really works against the Blaster "look" IMO.

So far, BT* is a straight repaint line, so it's expected. I'm not of fan of this recolor. It's basically whose G1 image can we conjure up for the fans to buy with the least amount of work.

Actually it reminds me of Powerlinx Hot Shot, cause his forehead paint app was a mistake. :D

Ironhide woulda been a better choice if they didn't remold. Though I've only seen the bb officially in this orangey shade of red.

I think Takara went with silver cause that's what they think their target market likes/owns. Same as Hasbro.

Exec: We'll add ricer flames to it! And 20" dubs with spinners. It's fat with a ph. Know what I'm sayin?

Peon: Umm, sir, that would require remolding which would come out of your pay.

Exec: Nevermind the deep dish rims. Too much work anyway.

Actually BTA1, alert, has abit of remolding and thought gone into it. The lightbar and spoiler (I think) are different from streak and the colour scheme isn't a simple swap of colours, it is balack and white with lettering and the police crest at the front.

As a few others said, I think that this might very well be the 1st BT/BT* that I skip.

There just isn't enough there to make this mold into Blaster for me, and if the G1 homage isn't there, then I am really not all that interested (esp considering that I will be getting Skids, so I will already have the mold once). If they made him red w/ some more paint apps/details to more resemble Blaster, then they have my $50, otherwise, this fig might just keep me from having a complete BT collection.

Damn.

I've just seen this over on the Custom Repaints and Kitbashes board. DJMajin's done a good job with this digibash and it's now looking a little bit better as Blaster but only just.

PO

Ugh!  Some TFs just should not be in car form.

That Photoshopped pic looks good, though.  If Broadcast were to look like that perhaps I could be persuaded.

Well just not THAT car form...
