So what do people think of Blaster then?

 

I'm not to sure about all the silver, they should have done him in red. and he's missing his horns.

as for the new head its fugly and the colours are blah

The head is really lazy, as is alert. Not even bothering with remolding it. The colour sucks - I thought that a red TV van would be good for blaster in this line but the dull grey is rubbish. First BT I might not bother with, or at least repaint. Only thing I can think of is they needed a gimmick for the female companion and blaster was the logical choice to accompany a reporter. Reason he's not red is that ironhide will be the BT proper repaint.

he's going on the list with swerve and Decepticharge... the list of, "Unless i find it for less that $5 i'm skipping it"

So far, BT* is a straight repaint line, so it's expected. I'm not of fan of this recolor. It's basically whose G1 image can we conjure up for the fans to buy with the least amount of work.

 

Actually it reminds me of Powerlinx Hot Shot, cause his forehead paint app was a mistake. :D

 

Ironhide woulda been a better choice if they didn't remold. Though I've only seen the bb officially in this orangey shade of red.

I think Takara went with silver cause that's what they think their target market likes/owns. Same as Hasbro.

Think just buy Skids and skip this version.  Wait and see decepticon version.

This is the Money shot right here. This is the exact pic that says, "that's Blaster". I just wish they did do some remolding and if he was red with gray legs.

 

The thing that I'm afraid of with these BTA figs is that, (Please take note on this one. It might come true ;) ) There is no guarentee that Hasbro will release these exact figures in their Alternators line. While this sound like a bad thing for the monetarily impaired, Hasbro may still release these Characters in their own line featuring molds and color schemes better suit for the characters. I think Sunstreaker was just a coincidence.

 

I want alert and Blaster but If I shell out $50+ on these figures and then next year on ebay were seeing a red and white RSX with a red Sideswipe head or a Red w/silver striped Mustang, that has a retoold grimlock w/mouth and no visor also painted red and silver........I'm.......gonna be pissed.

 

Dont say it can't happen. Hasbro= all Plastic Alts, Decepticharge and Swerve

Takara= Diecast metal, Red Meister, Yellow Tracks, multiple Smokescreens, BTA

So they do have different plans.

I seem to recall reading somewhere that Skids was getting released in two paint jobs, similar to Tracks. The silver one is the one that's the car's signature colour, and the Blue on is the character accurate version.

 

Not Blaster, well I don't think so. On all the other redeco's they at least made a new head mold.
