Waiting till the end to let us know that one of the exclusives is just a repaint of another was wrong.

Everyone's complaining about the price but unless you're getting the non-attendee package, that price covers alot more than the figures.  And as for some of the 3H comparisons, need I mention the over priced Sideswipe who had a sticker on his roof, mispaired missile launchers, and a low quality box like the other con exclusives that year.  Sunstreaker had those same problems, but he was "free with hotel".  I'm looking forward to the set.  Towline is possibly my favorite Energon Autobot mold and the Ironhide repaint looks great.  As I've said, Buzzclaw is a fun toy and I don't mind having more of the sucker around.  Yeah, the name issue on Chromia is awkward, but whatever.  Remolded head, and the colors aren't quite the same as the Paradron Medic figure, so we finally have an Omnicon recolor besides Strongarm and Signal Flare in the US.  Deathsaurus, not my fav mold, but a cool character and a nice head sculpt.  Fallback and Richochet are the only ones not floating my boat as Strongarm was one of the two Omnicons that didn't do anything for me and no recolor of that particular Cyberjet mold will ever beat RM R-Blade. 

Looks like though one of those respected members would have caught the whole Chromia and Moonracer screwup.

does hasbro even have the right to "Moonracer" any more?  If they don't would you have prefered them come up with new name instead of securing chromia?

Ah but your assuming that they were making a Moonracer and had to go with another name, just as I am assuming that they were making a Chromia and got it wrong. In anycase they should have made sure they could get a name and continue on before anything was produced. If indeed it was to be Moonracer in all respect the figures tells us yes, if they could not secure the rights to the name, then they should have had time to plan to make the plastic blue instead of teal.

Of all those molds I only have the Energon ones. For maybe $100 it would be neat to get but $300+ Canadian is rediculous. Persomally I like the Energon repaints best  however it would be cool to be able to add more Beasties to my collection.  :thumb

It's a Fuzors mold, not Waspinator.

 

As for my feelings on the set, I just bid on an Ironhide test shot if that tells you anything.  I would buy the set and ebay the ones I don't want, but really, who's gonna pay the $200 some odd dollars it would cost to break even on the 6 figures that suck?  So I would end up either losing more money, or having a bunch of overpriced toys I don't want.  No thanks on both counts.  If I was going to the convention (as I had planned to before losing my job... :redface ) it would be different, and I would think it was worth it.  But from home, it's just another purchase of toys I can't find locally, and I'd rather spend that kind of money on a test shot Ironhide and a few BT's and Robot Masters.   :thumb

 

Also, I find it funny that they posted screencaps of the toon versions of the heads, so you can easily see how they screwed up the head molds.  :roll

they flat out Powerglideed up on cromia, how hard is it to tell that the screen cap  was moonracer!

 

 

I hope MC is happy, an Arcee will die so I can have MOONRACER!

BTW, everyone needs to remember that there is an advisory board of respected fans working with MC.  People like the Hartmans and Ben Yee.  I'm not going to say you need to be all happy and nice, but remember who is working with MC on the exclusives before you just say "MC sucks!", because they're getting help from people that have been well respected for years.

Too bad that majority of the fandom doesn't feel the same way as the "respected fans". If MC continues to disappoint the fandom with stuff like this, a lot of them would not renew their membership for next year or they'll still have stocks of their exclusives left. If you can't give your target audience what they want, then you won't make money. Having being in the business for years, MC should know that first impressions last, and this so far, has not been a very good impression. Hopefully the convention itself would be able to make up for this.

dear lord what an absolute joke, i havent said anything derogatory about MC or the collection past the fact that buzzclaw was a godawful figure in my eyes but this is just asking for contempt.  So far all MC have done is do their utmost to prevent people from seeing the toy of primus which breeds resent especially from those outside of the USA where the magazine is prohibitivly expensive and now a massively lazy and laclustre set for botcon.  Not a good way to run a  business that is customer facing.

Extreme tazbot. two decent figures out of a seven figure set. they don't seem to realize that these are exclusives, they're meant for the collector only. you don't seen halfassing on the Alts, now do you? questionable choices, sure, but not obvious halfassing. it's as if they took a look at arcee and said "Hey, let's change her head some, swap out the pink for light green, and call it a day!"

to all you canadians out there worrying about the price, im there with you. not that i bought the set, but that is really expensive for us. i just cant beleive they pulled this crap. buzzclaw? ew. i have the beast wars one and i didnt think he was worth seven dollars. ill be looking for a loose deathsauras and ironhide on ebay. but theyll be expensive by themselves anyways. ugh.

 

and what am i doing now? counting the $300+ i didnt spend on this monstrosity they call a set.
