Well, as children many found it hard to accept the fact that Optimus had died.... had Rodimus become leader and Optimus stepped back in an advisory roll, there wouldn't have been near the backlash, and probably alot more love for Rodimus.

However, now that we're whiney fanboy adults, we would be more open to the idea of another properly executed Rodimus Prime, there would still be complaining, but as a collective whole it'd be easier to deal with and accept this time around.

I always thought that the idea of Rodimus Prime chatting with Prime via the Matrix would have been great. Prime would still be there and Rodimus would be seen as growing as opposed to just stagnating and being all whiny.

True, but Optimus came back to life and negated the matrix by emptying it... but using that as a continuing point we could've seen Optimus grooming Hot Rod to be the leader he was supposed to be...  back then it'd never have happened tho since they were only trying to market new toys...

If Season 3 had worked out, there would never have been a "Return of Optimus Prime."

That would have been cool. Rodimus in the show was never decisive enough. A leader should be rock hard.  :tflaugh

Of course Optimus was not always that either.

I just remembered the last issue of the first DW G1 series. Superion flew off to stop the nuke which would have blown up an entire city.

Of course what he did was the right decision looking from a humanitarian viewpoint. It was also the only choice an Autobot could have made.

But it was also a stupid one as it cost the Autobots 5 soldiers. And not just any soldiers but 5 flyers. And for the Autobots who are always short on flyers this could have cost them the entire war.

So in retrospect it was a rather foolish decision. Ok, a lot of humans would have died but if the Decepticons would win the war then this whole planet is done for.

Tough choice. No wonder Ultra Magnus does not want to be a leader.  :tflaugh  And being a bad guy is just so much easier.  :tfevil

As far as I'm concerned, i'm kinda glad Season three didn't work out. I might not have my Powermaster Optimus if it had. one of the best G1's ever... *Lovers to Powermaster Prime.*

In my little world, Powermaster Prime happens when he goes to Nebulos and gets super powered up and goes back to Cybertron to singlehandedly PWN all the Decepticons :P

Grimlock is a better millitary leader. He would have crushed the Decepticons, and probably ended the war quicker against Megatron. Thing is, Megatron isn't exactly cunning, so Grimlock is up against someone of his "style".

The casulties would have monted up, though, perhaps leading to certain Autobots leaving simply because of the carnage Grimlock would wreak to acheieve total victory. This, if it ended up on Earth, would lead to humanity waging war against all Transformers, as Grimlock would be just as much of a threat as Megatron.

Prime is a better political leader. He gets people to do things, and gets people on his side. Whilst it may lead to a longer war, there would be less deaths and there would probably be an alliance with humans.

Emmirate Xaaron is a better leader overall. Avatar of Primus, asskicker extrodinaire, and cunning bugger. :D

You do relies that DW killed off Superion so everybody could be like "DW Killed ppl offthier so hardcore1!!11!!1" Don't you?
