All other Autobot leaders have been written really poorly, character-wise. The only option left is OP.

He wouldn't be the best leader, but I think he'd be the most intersting to watch.  Especially if he slowly became a good leader.

BTW did Rodimus Prime ever make threw an entire season as Rodimus Prime?  I always seem to remember his ass getting pwn'd one way or another.

But Grimlock would be an effective leader as well due to his ruthlessness. Plus he cares little about humans and would probably not go out of his way to rescue us. Which would be a far more effective leader against the Decepticons.

Well, as children many found it hard to accept the fact that Optimus had died.... had Rodimus become leader and Optimus stepped back in an advisory roll, there wouldn't have been near the backlash, and probably alot more love for Rodimus.

 

However, now that we're whiney fanboy adults, we would be more open to the idea of another properly executed Rodimus Prime, there would still be complaining, but as a collective whole it'd be easier to deal with and accept this time around.

On this list, I got to go with Grimlock if he's like the comic version.

 

Off the list, Optimus Primal and BW Megatron would make jokes out of all the choices.

I mean at times Prime is a little too soft. Grimlock would not mind letting a few humans die in order to achieve a victory whereas Prime would risk his own life to save a human.

 

This topic makes me think about that Adult Swim movie.
