Energon ULTRA MAGNUS

Recommended Posts

its an old thread from tfmaster.com on a UltraMagnus kitbash done by Tfmaster. I find it really cool so Im trying to make one of my own.

So far I have done the ball joints for the neck and the elbows. and given my UM 2 gas pipes on his helmet. the knees shouldnt be of any problem... its only the shoulders ball points... anybody with any helpful advice/comments/ideas(and not some sarcastic remarks) on how its being done? pls help. thanks alot

below is the E.UltraMagnus done by Tfmaster. Pls have a good look.

still cant figure out how the shoulders are done... how are u going to kitbash your overload/ultramagnus? i realise ball joints are too weak for the elbows and replaced with some gundam knees instead...

although im sure TFMaster didnt used those, have you considered Bionicle balljoints?

for the elbows yes.. but its too big to fit... Tfmaster done a very neat cutting to a form a hinge for the elbows.. my skills are not up to that standard yet so just trying to do something within my capability... its only the shoulders i really want to know how its being done. I tried to strip the upper limbs n shoulders but still cant figure the shoulder joints...

for all we know, he might have used something from another figure... the only real way to allow transformation would be to have sliding shoulders ala 20th Prime, but with the other stuff inside the arms, i doubt theres any space left

precisely! thats the thing i cant fiigure out... I tried to pm him but still no respond.

now... he doesnt look all that posable, but my god its an improvement. me wanty. :clap

I never really dropped the project (Quit it) but I did drop it and it broke.

What I used was the shoulder sockets and ball joints from a TM Megatron.

I put the sicket inside the shoulder hinge where it folded in and the balljoint connected to the arm.

Takes alot of fitting and cutting but after I glued the sicket in I filled the socket hole with clay then filled the inside with resin to solidify and safely hold the socket in place.Afterwards I cleanned the clay out of the socket then cut the balljoint off and trimmed it for the arms and then drilled a hole in it's stem and a hole where I was going to place the stem and then took a screw under screwed the balljoint to the arm. Right before I tightened it up all the way I left anouph of a crack to put a drop of crazy glue there then tightened it befor it dried.

Hope that helps. I didn't answer you because you just asked a day or two ago and I was out for the weekend. Sorry...lol...I have a life outside TF's as well.LOL

Anyhoo, good luck in yours and I hope I gave you some insite.
