i don't think decepticons would waste resources on pointless things like genocide or religeous/political ideals. decepticons only kill if some one has something they want and people get in the way of them taking it. they're mostly concerned with aquiring energy so as to make the transformer race strong enough to fight off any enemy that threatens their existence. it all boils down to survival, mostly.

Megatron time and time again has needlessly killed and for the joy of it. Shockwave has got to be the most bone chilling evil of all, not caring who or what or how something dies. Starscream and the rest throwing the broken bots out of a ship in space. How about the storming of that ship in the begining of the movie. Blasting that bot in the face...yep, nothing but "kind" and "rightous" killing here... Both the Autobots and the Decepticons can be seen as beings who kill for overall popintless reasons (isn't all killing bad in the end anyways?) In my eyes the Decepticons would not have cared about 9-11, they would have just used this as something to futher their movements in getting what they want. Decepticons are bad, bad dudes.

didn't see your responce in the other post, your right on you point of him most likely not wanting to waste energon on a genocide, but he would love killing innocent bystanders.

In DW comics the Decepticons started as a political protest against the Autobot council. But Megatron does rule with power and intimidation.

I agree with Eric B., the Decepticons are a motley crew of the worst that Cybertron has to offer.

 

Look at Blitzwing. He is just a big gangsta bully who finds humor in hurting others. On earth we call people like that psychotic.

 

Also, look how Megatron tried to play on Primes compassion in their epic duel in TFTM. He was just trying to get that gun to kill Prime in his moment of weekness.

 

Prime even said “You who are without sympathy now beg for it?�

in a way i always saw megatron as bieng the hitler of his kind at his absalute worst  what with the smelting pools and all being comparable to the holocaust. especially when it comes to the shell yards in beast machines.

I sorta agree, i dont think energy would be wasted on things like genocide, and although they are very vindictive and ruthless, and would kill anyone for the fun of it. Well, they believe what they do is morally correct, and will do whatever to achieve that... they are meant to embody the current media "enemy" like terrorists, groups that are portrayed as being ruthless in gaining power and cruel in nature. But in reality, well lets just say "History is written by the winners." And in this case the portrayal of the decepticons is as well. I always thought that the autobots provoked them in some way.

What about the experiments he did on his Minicon slaves. One of my favorite cruel moments is when he beats the tar out of Scorponok and then uses him as a shield only to uncaringly toss him to the curb. Which also make me think of the brainwashing he did on Starscream to make him his most loyal general.

well, at least the cons don't kill over fivilous reasons like economic gain or religeous ideals.

Genocide isn't really something the transformers would understand since there's only two factions and very few, if any, neutrals.  Every murder is done in the atmosphere of war. 

 

I think what makes Megatron comparable to human dictators is his method of ruling when he has power, not how he gets it.  He maintains control through brute strength and intimidation, not because he deserves it.

That fact depends on what continuity you look at, and whether its comic or T.V, in the armada comics there were plenty of neutrals in the beginning, not to mention minicon's. And in Cybertron all the planets start out neutral. And in later G1 there werent any neutrals but in war within there were. So at one point yes Genocide was understood.
