a guy i know just sold me a G1 menasor giftset and a G1 defensor giftset. they are all very mint, not to mention the toys the foam insert looks just as new.

 

menasor and defensor are obvioulsy on display now... i just haven't decided what to do with the rest yet...  i was thinking about selling the boxes with the foam insert and keep everything else (weapons, techs...)... question is if those boxes could earn me enough money to buy eventually some more good transformers or is it better to keep them as with the box the whole toy gets much more money if i decide to sell it one day...(even if i doubt i will)?

Well it depends on how you collect your toys. With such a rare item, if I wasn't a boxed collector, I would just keep it. Because I know that some day I would regret getting rid of it. This I know because it has happened to me before.

the dude is a guy i know and found them out in the cellar. i don't know if he ever polayed with them as a child since they are very mint, but he needed money for his car tyres (haha yeah) so he sold them to me when a friend of mine told him i collect transformers.

that's why i got the boxes.

 

now i start thinking i just better keep them in a safe dry place :)

i see right on, that's a hell of a good find. I myself as a collector keep all my boxes, especialy if i ever find giftset stuff (i only have the menasor one right now).

keep them behind the transformers for display purposes... or burn them... i don't care...

that was my doubt more or less...

the point is they are my first ever toys that came with a box so i didn't exactly know how to behave. but again since i'm not os short on money i guess some $$$ won't really make the difference.

i'll just keep them.
