I for one was rather disappointed to see the lack of creativity that had gone into the vivid blue prowl version. I LOVE the car mode with the great paint app and that's probably the only reason I'll get it. Other than the blue car parts the only difference seems to be a small blue insert instead of red on the shins. It would have been so much better if they could have added blue highlights to the arms and head to replace the red, which IMO looks out place. Also, a blue nightstick would look much better. Normally I wouldn't desicrate a BT by customising it but in this case I think I'll have to add some different colour to it, maybe to make it resemble nightbeat as I have a spare blue visor also. Opinions anyone?

im split on which one to get i like the extra bits the police type has (lights, logos etc) but i raly dig the paint job on the blue. im not to fussed about the red bits on blue prowl but i can see why people want a uniform look.

Do we know if this is the final version? I was thinking that it maybe unfinished proto-type, but the release date is pretty soon isn't it?

 

If this is the final version, it would be a tough decision to choose between Blue or Police.  Do you skip the G1-styled Prowl and buy Blue Prowl, or do you get Police Prowl and miss out on Fancy Vivid Blue Prowl?

I'm pretty sure it's the finished version as the box in the background has a picture of blue prowl in the same scheme as the toy. A shame, as I think it's a missed opportunity to add a bit of extra flair to the toy. What's the betting that the BT story line quotes this as being prowl's 'undercover' mode, as opposed to his clone, camoflage tech or duplicates as with previous dual released BTs????

Was hoping for a proper Championship White Type-R, but that'd be more redundant. Ah well. I'm one of the few that's glad his head isn't repainted, as I'll be doing the inevitable switch.

I actually plan to grab both and go with the undercover idea.  The lack of blue paint apps in robot mode don't bother me, since I see it same as a plainclothes cop throwing on a bulletproof vest over his nice suit.

I want to like him but cant.  After seeing the new pictures of him I have to say I was very turned off by the blue paint scheme, not because it was blue I love the fact that it is blue as I'm a little iffy on the police car version but the fact that they did not paint his head to match the blue paint and the rest of his body. It just looks so out of place and just does not fit him.  Needless to say I will be passing on him and waiting for the Alt version.

I'm a little mixed. Though I'll be getting the cop car version BT, the blue version has a sweet car mode paint job...but the robot mode looks kinda tacky. I don't really like how the blue and white seem to clash in robot mode, and the head really shoulda been repainted. I mean, it actually does kinda look more like a policeman in uniform (with the blue bits) but it just doesn't feel...right. I mean, Prowl's been blue before (RiD, Energon), but a Geewun-styled Prowl in blue? Not for me.

Wow, in the end it's just a... a blue Prowl. That's pathetic. It's not a new/old character and it looks like the snipped of the lights. I think I'll not only pass, but laugh wildly as I do. :rofl

 

Sunstreaker is a different story. I get all squishy just thinking about him and at least BTA Sunstreaker has Junko from Car Robots, I'm preordering that sucker at the end of the week. :drool

I really thought this would be everyones shot at a BT Soundwave.

 

I think what happened was Takara initially wanted this to be Skids because the colour and head fit. The upcoming Skids was supposed to originally be Ironhide but the rabid outcry from the fans forced Has/Tak to rethink there strategy with these upcoming toys.

 

I may be way off on this one but either way I see little to complain about. If I do eventially buy one of the upcoming Prowls It'll be the Police decaled one. The only thing I'm split on is weather to go Alt or BT on the B/W variation.
