G2 WST Optimus Prototype

Recommended Posts

that is awesome!!!!!!!! :drool :drool

ok, this absolutley has to end this for me, these WST prime, Pepsi wst prime, this one are all done by the same guy. Yet no other WST proto's are showing up in his sales?! It's kinda of cheap that he's calling them prototypes, but they are killer looking customs.

I went over this once before in another thread.  I would br prepared to stake a number of TFs on the fact that these are genuine items from the HasTak factories for numerous reasons.

He sells other items and one off that are protos and can only have come from the factory.

there is no `fleshing` on any of the items which is impossible on a home custom setup, i sincerly doubt anyone would go to the considerable time and expense of reverse engineering high quality molds for such a limited source of income

The items are really really hard to make due to the super small and quite detailed parts.

The pins used are identicle to the ones officially released by takara.

there is no bonding or haphazard way of attaching the `G2` section to the front of the trailer.  It is professional and flawless.  People who make customs or even knock offs do not and care not to maintain such high levels of quality, why would they?

WST took a hiatus, the line isnt cancelled but may not continue, they will ahve had a number of items already lined up, the trailer is very easy to do and you need to ask "why are the proportions of Prime wrong?" his legs are long and look wierd and yet with this G2 trailer (which i have got) It allows for unrestricted movement of the cab without haveing to alter the conector which is by far a more cost efficent way of doing things.

I sumise that these are not protos but unreleased items that may or may not be used in an upcoming WST release and are currently 1000s of them sitting in bins (storage bins) in the factories awaiting disposal or release orders.

but if there are so many, why did they not release them? and why so many versions of prime? I will give you that the quality is unsurpassed, but it seems odd that this is the only guy selling them and noin have poped up anywhere else?

I bid... tho I would've bid for two 'cept I noticed that he won't combine shipping, so if I got two that'd equate to $40.... not really worth that unfortunately, but I'll take one for $20 total...

a production run could run into 1000s of these very small toys and why was it not released?  marketing reasons, takaras finacial situation blah blah blah, there are a number of reasons why they but it on hiatus but truth is we just dont know.  There are Skids and Tracks versions out there somewhere along with megatrons attachments.

Why just him?  He may be in charge of supplies/stores/security or anything at the factory, he could be in charge of preventing these things sneaking out :lol But I know he has contacts at the factory to aquire `other things`

why make 1000s THEN decide not to sell them?! I could see that, if these remain in the 15-20 in amount each though, hmmmm. I never thought about that. Oh well, either way i guess that makes my clear one my second prototype then. :thumb

big business is a funny animal to say the least, the bank i used to work for spent millions on a bespoke software package and then never used it :roll, cost analysis could mean they are concentrating on short term gains and the business model has deviated away from small low profit items such as WST. WST was to continue a short time ago and if production was geared up, then halted they have all these pieces will be lying around, as there is no comfirmed cancellation of the line I bet there are tons of these things about.  Dont forget its doubtful that most chinese workers will know the value of these things outside china and doubt they are fans ;)

Oh and as for the `Pepsi` and `Diaclone` ones I doubt that is much more than anyone dicking around on a printer be it at the factory or at home.

Oh and I love your Tidal Wave proto ;))

If these are Protos, where's the has/tak stamp or the not for sale stamp? I got the pepsi wst trailer, while althout it looks pretty good, I could not locate any official has/tak stamp anywhere.  The Pepsi Logo color looks a bit faded, and not the color of an official release, which would appear more vibrant in color.
