Gonna have a nice sub group with police vehicle's.  Prowl,  alert, and my custom Bludhound.  :thumb

Just to clear some potential confusion that may be occuring:  even though the new WRX is called "alert," he's going to be a police car and not a "Red alert"-esque fire chief car.  (Depending on which Perfecture they chose, he may even have a paint job very similar to Prowl's).  We still might see a RSX/Integra repaint as the official "Red alert" at some point.

"alert" was the Japanese name of G1 Red alert.

Red alert should be the repaint of Skids.

 

alert had the doors on top of his shoulders as well.

 

Is anyone else very very confused about this news? I dont know who the hell is whos remold, except for sunstreaker, who I will pass with glee (Deadend rocks! :P).

we have just had a glut of news and 2 brand new molds, I cant figure out where people get the idea that the line is ending, if my memory serves thats been said since after the first 6 (thought there was only supposed to be 6) The scion was a bolt out of the blue and am sure there is much more to come as companies be it toys/cars/anything rarely drop prestige lines.  These are not loss leaders, they are making money of these things.

 

Also I keep hearing that BTs do not sell well in Japan so why isnt the market flooded with cheap BT shelf warmers.

If this turns out well I gotta thank Takara for making amends to obsessive compulsive G1 fanboys like myself. Hopefully everything works out with a turn of the screwdriver. *crosses fingers*

I hope you are right and I am proved wrong boss. I just have a shady feeling about another remold of the WRX and SRT- Viper this late into the line.

 

The "Initial D" style figures also reeks of quick gimmick, a sign I don't like. Why didn't we get these in the begining of the line?

 

Don't get me wrong, I am happy as a clam with news of more BTs (as always) and am actually looking foward to seeing these 1/24 chicks.

If Sunstreaker is only a BT, then I will get it, otherwise I'll wait for the Alternator.  I hope this new of Skids is also true for Alternators.  I will now gladly accept the Scion as Skids, since it is an upgrade from his G1 alt-mode.

True, but the RiD police car was Mach alert.  Maybe they're admitting they're running out of G1 characters.

Agreed, J-diddy.  Takara isnt in the business of making more remolds/recolors of toys that aren't selling...  I think they are selling just fine. 

 

So the Takara line looks like this:

6 WRX/WRC

3 Viper

2 Jeep

2 Scion

2 RSX

3 RX-8

3 corvette (possibly swerve two)

2 S2000

 

Additionally there are these slightly different Alts:

RSX Prowl variant

Corvette Swerve

S2000 Decepticharge

 

That's 23 binaltechs and 26 total car variants.  Insano!  I'm not sure I can afford this hobby anymore :-(

I want more Decepticon BTs!!!!

 

The remolds sound cool, but they better do some changes. I don't want Sunstreaker to just be a Yellow Dead End.
