Looking forward to seeing this guy properly transformed and with paint aps in some official pics.

I think Has/Tak would have the sense to know that Metro means city.

No, actually not. "metro" can either stand for [measure] or for [mother]

In the case of the word Metropolis, "polis" is the part that means city, as in necropolis, or any city name that ends in -polis (Indianapolis, etc)

A metropolis is a main city within an area, near lesser cities, or towns.

Metropolis gives us the adjective metropolitan; and since this is a long word, people reduced it to metro, as happened to photo in photograph and cinema in cinematograph.

But if you are referring to that, there "metro" doesn't stand for [city] but for [belonging to a metropolis]

Metro stands for tube, or subway in some european countries

As for the name of Metroplex... don't sweat, it was just chosen because it sounded cool. They didn't think too much about it, you should do so...

Back to topic, I am still not satisfied about the looks of this toy, I don't know... I feel it misses something, and at the same time, the shovel weapon thing is out of place. It would have been better to have huge missiles / turrets, as Metroplex used to have

I think it's gonna be funny later on down the road when we find out that this guy combines with Prime or something crazy like that, and we see all the nay-sayers suddenly shout out "HOLY CRAP!!!1! ITS TEH R0X0R5!!!11!1!!!

Besides in Machine Wars there is a plane called Metroplex.

Actually...that was Megaplex. was  MEgatron's "clone".

I plan on getting this guy, just for bot mode alone. The "base mode" just looks like him kneeling down and begging for forgiveness..and ok, I was wrong about the Leader 1 thing. Hips are totally different among other things

Wow, this guy looks amazing. I love the alt mode - huge and powerful, and quite like the original Metroplex. I'm consistently surprised by these sort of toys, that manage to be both homages and completely different. I look forward to seeing it painted!

Been having a look at the mini-con dude, and I think it is Leader-1's body. I don't know why the wheels are now on tighter to the main body, but I do remember how many different ways one could configure Leader-1. The guy was something like a Quin-changer! In any case, I think the lack of a cab is down to lighting in the photos and a lack of paint. Realistically, this body looks too much like Leader-1 to believe that HasTak would make an entirely new body.

It's definitely similar to Leader 1.

But it's not the same mould. The various bits are different shapes, different sizes.

Yep, that is not Leader 1. Intitially thought it was, but everything is molded completely differently than L1. Personally I think his bot mode looks way better than L1. He no longer has those outragous hips withe the wheels sticking out on the end. Asside from being impressed with Has/Tak for developing a new minicon it's also great to see the the mold isn't cheapened by becoming another lame ass head for him to wear.

The Alt mode isn't exactly what I had hoped for but at least it's something original and new to add to an already cool line of TFs. I'm really curious to see size comparisons because I can't see this mold working unless it's a Supreme class figure. It's really too bad Hasbro already wasted the potential of one said figure on an enormous Starscream that only a select number of people will buy anyway. I have no plans to. Realistically I can honestly see this being Energon Omega Supreme height, or possibibly even taller. I mean the said minicon stands about the height of this bot's foot. :eek

That is one big bot in my opinion, and can't wait to see more. :thumb

You are right, I just compared my Leader-1 to it. Not only are the hips different, but the detailing on the legs is different.
