different realities?

Here's a question: How many different realities are there in TF history, and what lines belong in each?

Don't forget tv shows, comics, and toy lines that don't have any adaptations (like Machine Wars).

the original mavel comics line is seperate of G1 continuity and the U.K. version was seperated from marvel. the only continuities that were connected to my knowledge was G1 and the beast wars/machines. RID, armada(including energon) are all seperate. the dreamwave stuff is another universe in it self and to my knowledge has no ties to the original G1

Well, lets see:

1. G1 cartoon

2. G1 comic(Marvel US)-G2 comic also is a continuation of this.

2a. G1 comic(Marvel UK, although US was intergrated into this).

3. Japanese G1 cartoon Headmasters and beyond(Masterforce, Victory)-this was

a continuation of G1, but branched off in a different direction after US Season

3 finale 'Return of Optimus Prime' then America's Season 4 miniseries 'Rebirth'

4. Beast Wars and Beast Machines which was a distant continuation of G1 that

integrated both Comic and Cartoon continuity(references to 'Primus' and

refers to 'The Ark' from the Comics, but also refers to Galvatron and

Starscream's Ghost from G1 Cartoon}. I think most fans wish Beast Machines

existed in it's own universe or not at all, but I have a theory as how the whole

'Technorganic Cybertron' actually may make some sense(Think how Unicron

and Primus became 'Planet sized' in the G1 comic. Just because the 'rocks'

that Primus imprisoned himself and Unicron in were lifeless at the time doesn't

mean that they were always lifeless. Just Remember:The seeds of the future

lie buried in the past....)

5. Beast Wars II, Neo, etc... all Japanese productions-I don't know much about

these.

6. Robots in Disguise(Car Robots)-I never did get to see the end of this one, but it

was extremely cheesy and definitely needs to exist in its own universe.

7. Armada and Energon-Cartoon.

8. Armada and Energon-Comics.

9. Dreamwave G1 and War Within-these do not quite follow the G1 cartoon or

Marvel comics as they ignore G2(thankfully-nothing against G2, but it would

have been way too complicated to try to continue DW G1 after G2 continuity.)

I personally like the way these differ from Marvel G1 comics and Cartoon.

10. Transformers Universe(Botcon-OTFCC comics and storyline-I believe this is

part of or a continuation of Beast Wars and Beast Machines).

11. Machine Wars-does anybody really know where these fit, other than on the

Clearence aisle at KBtoys? Actually, this could have a promising line if it

had some kind of exposure. The problem was not many people even knew

they were around when they were on the shelves due to no advertising,

cartoon, comics, or any commercials whatsoever.

12. Animorphs-Has nothing to do with Transformers whatsoever, but Kenner/

Hasbro was trying to capitalize on Beast Wars success, so they added the

'Transformers' good name to these creatures.

I'm probably missing others, but its late and this is all I could think of while my brain is turning to jelly.

sorry forgot about G2 and who cares about RID it had great toys but the show sucked, as for the japanese stuff i'll leave that for japan to worry about since it wasn't available in the united states.

Machine Wars was weird...I don't know what they were thinking. I only got one toy: Optimus Prime. It's a very good toy, except not very optimus-y. He looks really young. Was there really anything else worthwhile in there?

Beast Wars continued from BOTH the cartoon and the comic? That's really cool, I never knew that. I only ever watched the show...

Now the new novels by Scott Ciencin, those take place between vol. 1 and 2 of the DW G1 comics, right? I've only read the first one so far.

Machine Wars Optimus Prime was actually a repaint of a European Transformers figure called Thunderclash. MWOP would have looked much better had Hasbro remolded the head into the classic face-plated Optimus we all love, like the box art implied, but being such a limited release.....well, draw your own conclusions there.

you sorta caught a glimpse of that in Armada's Worlds Collide storyarc. I loved the part where Jetfire and crew enter the Decepticon HQ and see all these portals showsing characters from Beast Wars, R.I.D., Beast Machines, and Beast Wars Neo

The should definitely do another storyline like that with the different realities interact. Then you'd have every Prime that ever existed team up
