Michael Bay NOT using original TF voice actors!

Recommended Posts

Come on, people, that's what they did for the G1 movie.  A good number of reasonably well-known actors, most of whom didn't return for the TV series?  Orson Welles, Judd Nelson, Leonard Nimoy, Robert Stack...

He's got a point you know. :thumb

But those guys voiced all NEW characters, not existing characters.

Having Cullen and Welker is not just a fanboy thing IMO, it could draw in people that know their voice from when they voiced Optimus and Megatron in the 80's.  Same would go for Chalk and Kaye if they were to be Optimus and Megs.

I know plenty of my friends in their 20's would recognize Cullen's voice in a teaser, and it would be part of the drawing force to put their asses in the theater seats to feel as if their childhood was being revisited.

Believe it or not, more people outside of the fandom (that I've talked about the movie with) have expressed that they think it would be cooler to use the original characters the original VAs (especially for Prime, Megs and Bumblebee) than to start from scratch.

There is definitely a level of recognition if they use the original VA's.  Without a doubt, doing that would draw many people to the theatre.
