Microman/Diaclone cartoon ??

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I was wondering, if there was a cartoon from the Microman/Diaclone line?? And if yes, can you please give me a link...

Thanks !

I do not think diaclone had a cartoon, not sure on microman, and it it did it would not have been during the transformer mold days.  Check google and yahoo and the such.

Pff...  It was hard to find, but i have found something:

Unlike most other Japanese toys lines, Microman series was not based on a particular TV show or anime. The story for the line at first was mainly  provided by the mini-size "catarog" that came with the toys. Microman "catarog" became the source of information for kids and many spend hours looking at all the Microman toys and read the story in these tiny micro catalogs. It was not until 1976 that Takara commissioned comic serial for the line that ran in "TV Magazine" (a Japanese comic magazine).  Microman comic (manga), drawn and written by the late Mr. Moritou, became very popular with kids and Microman toys became one of the most successful toy line for Takara.

This came from the following site:

When I was on the TF panel at Anime North 2001, one of the people in the audience said he saw a Diaclone cartoon and it was really weird. That is the only source of info I have heard about it. I doubt it actually existed and he was likely thinking of something else.

Diaclone, AFAIK, had no supplemental media, which is why it failed as a whole.  Then Hasbro acquired the rights to produce it overseas, and with a proper fiction in place, it was a big hit.

Diaclone had a comic book...

Diaclone definately had a cartoon. I know for sure becuase I have the actual commercially released VHS tape for it. I don't know what/if it was released under in Japan. I have seen a Korean version as well. The cartoon is a typical boring kids manga. Probably made to compete with Gundam and the other popular Mecha shows at the time. See the scans:
