Hope for the Cybertron TV Show?

Recommended Posts

How about I watch the show, even though I'm fairly confident I won't enjoy it at all, so that HasTak can justify putting out another series just like it when this one ends.

FYI, this is the comment that I was commenting to. You make it sound as if you watching the show or not watching the show makes some difference in whether they will make another show after this one. If you're going to try and insult my intelligence, try it somewhere else, please. :thumb

Just call it my little protest then.  Either way, I'm not going to support the show. :thumb

However, the more people avoid watching it, the lower the ratings will be, and the higher the likelyhood that a different style would be used for the next series.

I'm really wondering why you're analyzing my words so much.  Is it merely because you disagree with my feelings towards Galaxy Force/Cybertron?  Are you trying to understand what I'm trying to say?  What is the reason?

No, none of that. I do agree with what you are saying. It's already been proven that if enough people aren't watching said show that it won't remain in a decent time slot. Not only that, I'm guessing that type of thing could have been part of what kept CN from airing the end of Energon until now. Who knows? Seriously, I understand your opinion. My point was just that I doubt any TF show will ever be good enough for us now that we're all older. It's just not made for us. I won't ever understand Transfans sitting around and over-analyzing a cartoon made to sell kids' toys. Sorry to be so disagreeable. You're free to post your opinion here anytime and I'm sorry if I gave you the wrong idea.

No problem, just wondering why you seemed so focused on my comments.

Anyway, it all comes down to my basic belief for any for of entertainment.  It's supposed to be entertaining.  IMO it's completely possible to make a TF show that older AND younger fans would like.  The precedents have been set with stuff like Batman : TAS, X-Men, and others like them.

I'm holding out hope that one day there may be a TF series I like on TV again.  But I'm not holding my breath waiting for it. :thumb

You obviously have no idea how TV ratings are calculated do you?

What is this? Gang up on Wildling week?  Now I get to explain myself to you too?

You know what?  I'm not going to answer your question until you can phrase it less insultingly than that.  If you have further problems with what I have said, feel free to PM me.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to be insulting, so I'll rephrase the question.

Thank you.

As a matter of fact, I do know how they are calculated.

Doesn't really change the statement though.  The less people watch it, the more likelyhood that the ratings are going to be low.  There's enough of a cross-section of people involved in the ratings tabulation process to ensure that.  If the ratings system didn't reflect the viewing habits of the population there wouldn't be much point to it.

You have a point, but look at this:

Only 5,000 homes in the US have a 'People Meter', which monitors what they watch.

Only 1 million people are contacted throughout the year to keep track of viewing habits for 1 week via a diary.

I for one, think they need to overhaul their system and include many more people than they currently do.

They do.  Badly.

It might help to get some of the more ridiculously bad sitcoms off the air too.

Or some of that BS "reality TV" crap. I can't stand it. I grew up when families would sit down on weeknights and watch actual good TV. This crap they show now is pointless. Why do I care who gets voted off the island?
