it looks like the box pirtty beat up so i i think its been tamperd with saying that a g2 repaint is a cool idea

C'mon! Sideswipe in Deadend's box? And we're seeing this just now? Deadend is so old news.. plus I don't think Hasbro is that much absent minded. :roll

If it is a mistake on Hasbro's part, then many more should have surfaced.  When you do a production run, you do a big batch at a time.  So many more black SS should have been produced.  If Hasbro did manage to catch the error before shipping it out to distributors, then its still hard to imagine 1 (perhaps a few more) got out to a chain store like Walmart.  It actually would be more believable if some guy from China sold it on ebay stating that it was stolen from Hasbro's factories after Hasbro found the mistakes and was going to throw them away (even then its hard to believe).  Bottom line, 1 or 2 appearing at Walmart is highly unlikely.  A variant (even mistake variants) appear more often than that.

I must agree with the nea sayers on this one. It looks to me like if he did infact buy it at Walmart like that then someone else probably bought it for a repaint then returned it afterwards realizing they had messed up.

Anyone consider the fact that someone could have taken the effort to repaint or dye a Sideswipe and put it into a Deadend package to return?

Still, I want to see the seams under the door and on the very front of the hood before I believe it.

that is possible.  At any rate, I doubt its a real variant.

Now I feel like finding a Sideswipe and dying it black for kicks (not to post it or anything, just to have).  I never seen them anymore.

Don't believe, but wish I could.

i don't have sideswipe but i have binaltech dead end and that does not look like a transformer. kids taking alts out of packages and exchanging them so they can get them cheaper is nothing new
