It would need to be CGI, not animated. :thumb I get a Land of the Lost vibe from the idea.

Sounds like a very interesting idea, but only if it is CGI, no more of that anime thing. At least not if you want to make a dark cartoon like BM and BW.   Anime is good But i think we need a darker approach to TF.

Why CGI?  Just because BW and BM were CGI doesn't mean that's the only way to make a darker version of TFs...

Because, if it is traditiona animation it will most likely fall into the trap of being anime-like. I never was looking at using CGI to make it "dark." I just want it Western-style story-telling. I was going to say live-action, but that would probably be too expensive.

But see, that's my point. CGI isn't necessary for it to be a Western style cartoon.  Just use a different artistic style.

Live action WOULD be cool.  Expensive, and very easy to make look stupid, but could be really cool.

It would be cool if it was set in the G1 universe...Have the astronaughts go through some time rift just like in Beast Wars and have them land on Cybertron of the past.

I'd watch it if they kept it atleast up to speed with Justice League or somethin.. not the art style, so much as the pace, ya know? 2d isn't dead.. =P Heck, even a flash Transformers series could kick all kinds of ass if they did it right.

I was personally thinking a dark sort of animation (we're talking about a metal planet with giant robots afterall) or perhaps live action.

Sort of a "Planet of the Apes" meets Transformers.

Lost...confused.....no hope of surviving in such a horrible terrain.

with great lines like:

"On our planet WE made the robots...NOT the other way around!"

"We were superior to you...you were OUR servants!"

"Beware! the organic virus has moved to sector 5. Be on alert"

It would need to be CGI, not animated. :thumb I get a Land of the Lost vibe from the idea.

I agree.  I'm curious as to exactly what CGI would change about the storywriting...

As far as the idea of humans going to cybertron instead of the TF's coming to earth?  Incredibly neat idea.  I'd personally prefer it as it's own storyline though, not building off of any previous continuity.  If it were linked to a previous series it would take away a lot of the potential WTF factor for the humans.

Sounds like a good idea, but where will the said humans find food on cybertron?  Even if it's the post-BM techno-organic cybertron, the humans still wouldn't be able to eat any 'food' produced by the techno-organics.  Granted, for a cartoon series this could easily be overlooked (like going to the bathroom in most series), but it would raise a more interesting point.

Agreed....plus it would definitely allow for more suprises...such as: "What the heck....that guy was a decepticon....oh man....those astronauts are screwed"

I think it would help to add to their desperation. Supplies getting low...on a planet made of metal...what to do...start eating eachother? try and see if any crops will grow?!? See if any of the surroundings can be consumed/converted?

I wouldn't have tp be some family arriving, why not astronaut explorers? such as sceudo military or something. at least that would give them a chance to survive.
