My "art" using Winsketch 7.5

Recommended Posts

So as I stated in my Art Challenge thread, I am using a program called Winsketch Pro 7.5 to make drawings for people. This program is designed to create building layouts that real-estate appraisers put on their appraisals and send them to banks. They show the square footage of rooms, and can calculate things like area and a bunch of stuff. Then you can put this info into appraisal software and it can figure it all out for you. Well me, not caring too much about houses, started drawing pictures with it. Luckly I have graph paper.

I didn't save all of them, only my most recent. For example, I didn't save my first one, which was a poorly drawn pirate ship. I did keep my second one... it is Pac-Man. You will notice grid lines in the pictures. These are because I am using screenshots made into images. Generally I just print them from the program and they do not print the grid lines. It should also be noted that these grid lines don't really serve any purpose other than being there, they don't line up with the ruler, while the program does have a "snap to grid" option (it can't be turned off either) it doesn't snap to the lines on the grid. Go figure.

Here's pac-man #1. More to come as I have to leave for home.

Also note the numbers in there. The program automatically puts the numbers in after it draws the line. As you can tell, I am horrible at it. Drawing rounded objects are really tricky since all drawing is done with the keyboard (it is nearly impossible using the mouse because of the "snap to invisible grid" feature.) Also the circle there is actually a "fake" object. It is merely a symbol and cannot calculate the square footage or area inside of it. If I tried to make a complete circle with it like I can make squares, it crashes the program.

Better ones to follow!

yes, i didnt bother to read the whole thing (not of a computer wiz), but yes At least the pacman pic is better than anything i can draw, truthfully.

Here is the second one I did. It is megaman. I learned how to turn off the numbers it generates for each shape, which is good because there are so many sides in this one!

Continuing on with the trend... I gave this one to my boss. This one I also learned I could move the pieces around with the keyboard (instead of the mouse) making the alignment much better. Notice there is a black line on the shell between 2 gray colored sections. The program cannot intersect lines or it gives an error. So if two pieces come together in one point (like two squares touching at the corners) then I have to make them as separate objects.

Here is a Princess Toadstool made by request (my first request completed.)

This is Scrooge McDuck from Duck Tales. He was created using a thinner line style, which allowed me to make it more exact fitting. This was not distributed yet and will be known as the "Scrooge Award" whenever my boss decides someone is acting as such, and he will give it out accordingly.

And lastly, using my new skills at this program, I created a new Pac-Man version to replace the other one. I like this one almost as much as Megaman.

i reallylike the top one -

It should be put up on Bluprint paper and sold like at Urban Outfitters or something

Its got that ragged-misappropriated-retro style to it.  I love that it has measurments.

I like it lots better than the nintendo stuff you moved into.  someone can take screen shots of an NES if they wanted those graphics.

Do more free-hand

Yea I got asked to draw a Teddy Ruxpin next. I will be doing it free hand but it is going to look really weird. I hope I learn how to draw arcs better by then.
