Hey there, my boyfriend has set me the challenge of building a transformer from scratch and because i can't say no to a dare regardless of what it is, I stupidly agreed. So now I need some MAJOR assistance. So i am thinking along the lines of a girl (possibly a barbie doll?) that turns into a cat but left to my own devices it will be made out of pipe cleaner, toilet roll tubes and empty washing up liquid bottles. and it won't transform.  So do any of you guys know of any websites that could help me? Lol sounds......interesting. But isnt the whole point of a transformer is to have it transform. You might as well get a roll of toilet paper, glue a barbies head onto it and paint it... there you go call it toiletron or barbie-rool.....or better yet 2-ply.HAHAHAHA

no need to get mad. I was just joking. But are you planing to put some money into it or is it just an attempt. Because, if you wanna make a worthy transformer, I suggest a bit more than just toilet paper rolls and pipe cleaner. But to make a barbie into a cat, remold the head, and make claws, and make the knee's bend so it can go on its knees, or jsut cut the legs short entirely and mold from there. I could help you buy building one myself, or a basic design if you want me to. But as a suggestion, get a toy car and use some basic materials or make legs and such. also make a head out of pipecleaner? im not sure, but i think a car or something would be easier.

First off, go to the topic at the top of this forum: The Idiot's Guide to Kitbashing, and read all the official entries into it. The guide contains all the information you'll need to get started, as well as see you through the multiple phases of design, construction and finishing.

 

Also, post any of your questions there as well; it's also intended as a sort of "help-desk' for kitbashers of all levels of skill and experience.

 

Additionally, I can suggest two websites for you concerning materials as well as techniques:

I hope this helps you out, Bagotrix. But first of all, don't use a barbie doll: the plastic is too fragile. you may want to consider a combination of battle ravage and arcee from transformers energon as a starting basis, depending on the scale of what you have in mind.
