the autobot run

Recommended Posts

i just watched the G! episode 'the auto bot run' and i was wondering, if all the season one & two autobots did have a race who would win? is it all down to the alt modes or do you think any of their special abilities could swing it for them?

my bets are on mirage, he's an F1 car, so basically he's built for racing!

I think it'd be a close one between Mirage, Sunstreaker, Tracks and Sideswipe.

There's every chance Sunstreaker could take it, though, because he not only has sheer motor-muscle, but a tough hide that can withstand a lot of punishment while bumping other vehicles.

F1 racers can go about 220 MPH, as compared to a top speed of 180 for the Lamborghini Countach. They can also corner way better than "standard" cars. I'm gonna say Mirage, hands down.

Mirage likely, Dragstrip would outspeed even him though I think.

Why, 'cuz he's EVIL? :tflaugh My understanding is that formula 1 racers have a set limit on their top speed.

Lamborginis have been clocked in excess of 250 mph. Not that these guys for the most part can be compared to an earth equivalent. I mean, how many mid-70's VW beetles do YOU know that can exceed 280 MPH?

However, yes, Mirage's wheels are better suited for cornering. It would depend on the race- straightway or circular. Sunstreaker visibly has a modified engine, so he'd dust his bro for sure.

But we're talking about the Lamborghini Countach LP500S, which is the model used for Sideswipe and Sunstreaker. That car had a top speed of 180 MPH. I don't know how much a blower adds to an engine's efficiency, but I'm not guessing that it's gonna make Sunstreaker's top speed increase by 40 MPH. I still say Mirage. :thumb

Aren't you guys forgetting Jazz?  He was a modified Porche 935 Turbo built exclusively for racing.  Jazz would take Sunstreaker all day long.

Some stats:

SPECIFICATIONS:

YEARS MADE-  = 1978-1981

PRODUCTION NUMBER  = 4

POWER OUTPUT  = 590 bhp

MAX SPEED  = 209 MPH

0-60 MPH  = 4.0 seconds

ENGINE  = Turbocharged flat 6, 2850 cc

That Countach wouldn't even touch that Porche.  Porche can outhandle the Countach and is a lot faster.

I had forgotten all about Jazz. And how fast could that Lancia Stratos go?

Mirage still wins anyway tho :P
