It's the title and the description of the item that's funny.  People sell vintage boxes, bubbles, accessories all the time.  Boxes actually go for a pretty penny.  Had the guy said "Megatron box and accessories for sale", then its just like any other auction.  But by saying he has a boxed G1 Megatron for sale, but missing the gun, it just comes off as ridiculous in a funny way.  Perhaps he wrote the auction with tongue in cheek.

I'm amused by how he says that TF collectors probably already have the gun.

Hey everybody, let's go buy a MIB G1 Megatron on Ebay, and not get Megatron!
