Universe Landfill/Devastator shares Seacons' fate?

Recommended Posts

Still doesn't make a damn lick of sense, especially since they were supposed to be wide release ("retailer backed out" stuff doesn't quite work for them...  unless Target and K-Mart and the rest offed them, too), given the preview of "Energon Overbite and Repugnus", I'm willing to bet they might be pushed back to be given new packaging for Cybertron or Energon or whatever.

in all honesty - i am not upset by that at all

i have those figures from RiD and although the "boyish" orange tractor (bonecrusher type) is really cool - most of the others are lame

And their combined form lacked hands, worse than the Energon Gestalts

Man, I was kinda lookin foward to the Green Landfill.. ahh well, one less thing for me to buy ... :tfsad ... I think that would be the right emote for this occasion.... meh screw it, I'll go with the mad one :tfmad

This is probably the closest thing we will get to a "Universe is finished" remark even remotely official until the con in September(?).

By saying that the Devafill set (which was actually previewed by Hasbro themselves last summer at the con circuit) is "looking for a retail outlet" despite being a main release is basically saying "Retailers aren't going to carry Universe Ultras for much longer, so we have to find another venue"

We haven't heard or seen a single test shot, retail list, manufactor list, or rumor of a new Universe beyond Blastcharge since last fall.

Personally, I think the only real future Universe (and repaints like this) have is through the online store.

(As for the Overbite listing in Hasbro's browse products, it is likely just something the web guy threw up there, bear in mind their GI Joe section is littered with items that won't see release, and Energon is DONE, PERIOD)

Too bad.  Hopefully the club store can pick up the Universe slack.

I don't know if I entirely like this news.  Perhaps retailers are backing out because TF sales haven't been what they were expecting?

I actually thought they were doing well at Target...I have landfill...and REALLY wanted this set as well, PLUS they did have pics of the figures on the backs of packaging

or are gearing up for the star wars push

Or maybe walmart tried to push Hasbro to a limit where they had to stop making deals and that caused wallycron to stop carrying exclusives.
