Strongarm...anyone think he should've been Brawn?

Recommended Posts

I was admiring my Energon collection last night and a thought ocurred to me: should Strongarm have been named Brawn instead? I mean, look at him- pretty strong looking for a little guy if you ask me. Combine the G1 Brawn personality with this guys' figure design and you have one hell of a "tough bot". What do you think?

discuss. :tfgrin

Not really. Sure, the name Brawn would have fit, but not to the point where I wouldn't prefer a good, brand new name like Strongarm.

Its def a nice thought, but Energon has enough homages as is so its good that he's a new character....

Of course there's always the possiblity of a Universe repaint :tfgrin (and hopefully a Hound and Swindle remold as well)

No. G1 homages are nice and all, but I prefer it when Hasbro employs a little creativity in their naming.

ofcourse this isnt an example of that....cause this name was taken from their Playskool gobot line

Actually, I thought it would of been better as Hound if it was a G1 theme.

But Strongarm works.

Honestly, I've given up hope on Hasbro's names ever making sense again with Bulkhead the Helicopter out there now.

I can see him being a Brawn, though.

His name is Strongarm, not Strong-bot...

I can see that. When I originally saw him, I thought the same thing but while Strongarm's vehicle mode shares the strongest resemblance to Hound or Swindle, I think the bot mode really looks like an updated Brawn. If they had painted him a more brown tone (like the G1 show colors or olive green like the original G1 figure) w/yellow highlights, it would match up more.

Yeah, on second thought, I don't think I'd like to see Brawn or Hound reduced to drones.

If that happened, it would only prove that Brawn lives.

Yep, instead of a cop out name like "X-Brawn" WTF was that anyway? That's worse than Skid-Z and Prowl 2 :tfgrin
