To be honest though, as we have said. This isn't G1.

 

So what's everyones problem with, say, having Wheelie? :tflaugh For all we know, Wheelie could be a smart-mouthed brat that is learning the ropes, kicking ass and taking names.

still, it would be pretty damn embarassing if Bumblebee is bigger than Arcee since Bumblebee is suppose to be a kid while Arcee is the equivilent of a late-teens/early twenties.

Now when on earth did Bumble Bee become a child?  In the cartoon at least his personality and such made him jsut as mature as any other Autobot, he's jsut small in stature.

 

And as for Arcee, if people base there ideas of her personality on the G1 cartoon then you gonna end up with a rather split personality thing.  80s cartoons were notorius for strong female characters that turned into wilting flowers the minute the villians needed a kidnapping victim.

 

I personally don't care if she's in the movie or not.  But either way she's gonna end up different in design and personality then any prior incarnation, all the bots are.

 

Prime and Megatron will be very close to the way they've always been since they are the main two.  But everyone else has changed with each new generation of cartoons and toys.

 

All I hope for is a decent movie, with special effects that can actually pull off the transformations well.  And even if the plot is twice as good as most of the G1 cartoon episodes it would still be in the low budget alley.  So hopefully They'll spend more time writing a good script then worring about making sure all the "cool" bots make it in. 

awww man. I canyt believe what ive been reading. With so few characters its just going to be another armada spinoff with a bigger budget. Murphy said there were only going to be about 7 to a side. Same with armada. The only way to have it well...G1...is to have a massive amount of characters and thats what fans who grew up with the series would want to see. oh yes, about the Arcee thing..HELL NO! ABSOLUTLY NOT! she was a terrible character along with most of the season 3 characters, well aside from the Headmasters...

Anyhoo...

Yeah at first I thought the same thing, then I remembered...this isn't G1 or BW or BM or RID or anything else. It's all new, but more than likely Arcee's role will reflect her Energon/Super-Link version more. This would make her action-ready and a bit rash. I say again, this doesn't bother me.

 

The ONLY thing about this movie I dislike at this time is I don't get Ironhide or Prowl as it seems. *Shrugs* But there ain't jack that can be done about it. So movng on...

I agree with him...I don't dislike Arcee in the movie, I dislike the fact that I loose out on my favorite 2-3 bots to put her in. But I've accepted this as the inevitable and now whatever. This movie will sink or float on it's own failures or merit and I'll be right there on opening night to see how it goes for myself.

MANY electrical components are labled MALE / FEMALE as in connectors. Not a great argument as per say.

 

As for the old "ARCEE was just a ditzy broad wit a gun" type crap i always thought of ARCEE as being sexy or at least sassy charachtor. equivalent charactor in a cartoon = X MAN: ROUGE "sure thing sugar" ARCEE only seemed distant to me because of the idea of her fighting a GOD DAMNED INTERPLANETARY  CIVIL WAR!!! you know that has gotta make you distant!

 

back to the old "but its the males who technicaly give birth" maybee its like FRAGGIN sea horses you know FEMALE carries  the programmes and the 'brain' chip MALE carries essential components for the new life forms body. in SEAHORSES the female places the eggs in a kangaroo like pouch on the male fishes stomach weeks later HE GOES THROUGH CONTRACTIONS AND GIVES BIRTH!

Who said anything about it being a G1 movie?

OH FOR GAWD'S SAKE!!! Allow me to reiterated for the 1,000th time, This Movie isn't G1!!!! The Characters and story are LOOSLY based on the G1 continuality.  Meaning that the characters you know and love/loath may or may not be like there G1 counterparts.  As far as Arcee is concerned all that is said is she's a Fembot, a cycle, and is named Arcee, nowhere has it been mentioned that she'll be ANYTHING like her G1 counterpart, NOWHERE!!!  She could be what ever the hell they want, Yah she could be weak, but she also could have a serious need to kick some "shiny-metal ass" we don't know, and wont know for some time.  And even with this said the G1 "purists" out there wont hear a word I've said, most hear "Transformers movie" and they picture G1, allow me to say it again-THIS IS NOT G FU*KING 1 GET OVER IT!!!! The character's will be how there done, and if the actors voicing them decide to add a flair of G1 to the mix that's up to them (and the director) NOT US!!!!  And I pray this is one brand of movie criticism that Don (Murphy) COMPLETLY ignores.  Let them make the movie the way they want to, to drawn in audience's, not US.  If we go see the movie and like it GREAT, but guess what we've already paid to see it, so if we HATE it, Tough Blot! We paid it's over don't see it again.  Those of us who do like it will see it again, and again, and then buy it on DVD, Why? because it was its own film and it was (will be) GREAT!!!

Easy, tiger. This film isn't G1. It's already been done. All I'm saying is that I would rather see certain TF's before her. There are other much more well known characters to use instead. And didn't Murphy say that it was loosely based off of the original Marvel comics? Sure, I don't expect G1, but at the same time I would like to see the characters be based off of their ORIGINAL tech specs, unless you really want Ironhide to be some young stupid surfer dude.

I think people are confused about the difference between using G1 CHARACTERS and using the G1 CONTINUITY. They will be using the first, but not the second. Now everyone go drink some herbal tea or something.
