Sourse----Collector magizine

Swerve was the answer to a red Tracks that was seen on the back of some G1 boxes. a red trcks came out in europee on the tail end of G1. Swerve was probably picked due to the Universe incarnation.

and also that swerve sucks... why do you people keep forgetting that ;)

That red Tracks was the fembot Road Rage, though. Why wouldn't they give it a new head mold and actually make it a chick Alt?

How long will OT have to wait!?!?!

Well, if that's supposed to be the true story, than the true story is flawed.

There was indeed a red Tracks in Europe, but it was at the beginning of G1. The red mold was a Diaclone leftover that was packaged in TF box with TF stickers. After a few months of red Tracks we also got a blue Tracks in Europe, and the red version was never seen again.

Road Rage was a later/recent (e-hobby?) re-release.

It may very well be that the universe Swerve paved the way for the Alt version, but as MH noticed, the head of this Alt is a nod to the G1 version; not to the universe version. If the new corvette had a head which was based on the universe version that might've been more acceptable than the G1 hommage. To paraphrase an old comment: "Truk not sportscar".

(And yes, MH, Universe Swerve was released some time last year.)

What a disappointment!  That doesn't explain anything!  Like, oh, how about why they're doing a third Corvette in the first place?  Unlike most people here I actually like Swerve, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't also like a real explanation.

Also, I've never seen a Universe Swerve in stores but it was reviewed on BWTF.com a long, long time ago.

Why is this in the news section? a five year old could have come up with a better theory. I thought it was going to be fact.

A five year old could have also come up with a less inflammatory repsonse. And this forum does have Rumor in the title, so let's just all play nice. :thumb

And yeesh people, he's only saying it was inspired by the Red Tracks (Road Rage) on the back of the box artwork, not that it was supposed to be that Red Tracks.
