ALT / BT Prowl's LEGS!!!

Recommended Posts

Hey guys!  Just saw the ebay auction from a link at binalternators.de for an ALT/BT Prowl prototype!  I know many people have been complaining about how ugly his legs were from the first pictures!  Well check out the pic!  Prowl is my favorite character and im still slightly disappointed with the alt/bt version but personally i think this is a HUGE improvement from the first pictures!  Apparently has/tak does listen to our complaints!  Enjoy!

Here's the link to the ebay auction btw

Or he could have been like that the whole time, but the first pics we saw were mistransformed.

They do look better, but unfortunately, they're obviously mistransformed.  The screws on his hips shouldn't be showing, and the knee joints are visible, meaning they're facing the wrong way.

However, it looks like he might be able to be modded fairly easily to have that configuration work properly.  Maybe.

Yes, seen those already.  Posted the pics in another Alt Prowl thread.  The legs in these are transformed correctly (Grimlock style), but the upper thigh and crotch is backwards.  The screws should be facing back.  Just by the way it needs to transform (lower leg/rear windshield folding over upper leg) there should be knee articulation, 180 degrees in fact.  Our resident Alt prototype buyer Jaguaratron won that auction so expect a gallery soon with, hopefully, the proper transformation.

Really then?

That really does help offset the bulk of his chest, even though it doesn't change the width any.  Funny that.  Looks perfect now, although I still think he looked pretty good before.

Sweet!  :clap Thanks Viagra Prime!  That's great news!  Can't wait to see them!  Would that mean that the legs have to be turned around like the way Meisters legs do?

Transforming him like Meister is impossible, or else you'd end up with mismatched screws (ie: screws visible on hips, not on thighs, or vice-versa).  So if what Viagra Prime says is actually true, then the ToyFair figure was misassembled, with its hips and thighs backwards (which would make for a slightly easier transformation, since all that would be required would be to twist the hips around and point the toes in the right direction, as well as less people complaining that their Prowls were misassembled  :roll), or it is indeed a Meister transformation, and only either one of those components is backwards.  Unless there's some uber-freaky transformation step that I don't know of that will get around that problem.

Yeah, I'm guessing the legs have to somehow swivel.  Probably similiar to Meister except instead of rotating the ankles (like Meister) you would rotate above the knee.  Since you can see the 2 screws on the thighs, I assume that it would be able to be rotated like Meister's hips too.  So yes, you'll probably need to rotate the waist, then rotate the hips, then rotate above the knee.  We'll see soon enough how its suppose to transform when Jag gets it.  He definitely looks better with the bulkier, Grimlock legs.  Makes it more proportioned to his upper body.
