Autobots have more numbers but aren't as prepared for war as the 'Cons. The 'Cons also (as Don Cass said) have a lot of Drones (Seekers, Sweeps, Terrorcons, Vehicons, and others) instead of fully-developed characters with personalities.

Yeah even in G1, the Cons consisted of fighter jets, and a couple super powerful guns/cannons, the first combiners, etc... and the Bots were cars and trucks...albeit cars and trucks armed to the teeth with shoulder mounted guns and missiles. :tfgrin

The Autobots had a Microscope and Boombox too. Your Point?

Anyhoo...the Decepticons and Autobots are both diverse in multiple areas. Soundwave and his Cassettes are great examples of excellent at their jobs, whether they have a fast or powerful Alt. Mode.

But they were used as spy equipment; still more war-like than sports cars or a freightliner.

In the fiction the Decepticons often have drones which help even the ranks at bit.

G1 - Reflector clones, Insecticon clones, Sweeps

Beast Machines - all the Vehicons besides the generals

Energon - Terrorcons

That's because we don't mind when nameless bad guys get killed, but it bothers us when nameless good guys do.

Discuss. :D

Nothing to really discuss MH, that's exactly how/what it is.

my only thought - its a shame that we are so dumbed down in america that we are afraid to show our children that there are consequences to their actions.

More damaging than violence in the media, is the disrespect for what that means.

whether that be by killing off nameless drones, or having all the GiJoes miraculously parachute out of exploding fighter-jets unscathed.

or unlimited lives for Mario...

Especially when its been shown that deaths of good characters can be moving and poigiant, and not necessarily traumatic (i am thinking BW-Dinobot, and even Movie-Prime)

oh well.

YAY! TOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My sons understand that there are consequences to their actions because my wife and I discipline our kids. They also like to have unlimited lives on Super Mario whatever. I don't think there's a connection there, unless someone has a hard time separating fantasy from reality. (Adult example: I play lots of shooting games. But real guns terrify me.)
