When I was growing up and playing with my Ultra Magnus, I always pretended that when he combined with his trailer, before putting on his new helmet, that he removed his mouth plate and his Magnus helmet fit inside and combined with the Ultra helmet. Meaning that he always keeps the same face, but once the new helmet was on his eyes changed colors.

 

I can’t remember ever seeing a picture done like this or anyone sharing this idea, so I decided to start drawing one today that showed him Pre-Ultra helmet. I didn’t get many details done, but I got a little laid out. This is only my 3rd attempt at drawing TFormers and I’m not very good with their proportions so I decided to post this WIP and use your helpful comments.

 

Because UM was always so much larger, toy, I wanted to give him some mass and depth. I hope you enjoy it as it comes along. Let me know what you think. All comments welcome.

It's pretty good, and you've definitely given him a lof of depth.

 

What would certianly give him an even bigger feel is to pull the frame out a little to a medium shot (waist to head) and insert some object that would show his size relatively (maybe picking an apple off of a tiny tree or something). Think Hotrod holding up the fish he caught for Daniel.

His right sholder looks rectangulor not square, I realy dig the other parts :thumb
