I'm not a big collector of current lines. I'm more of a collector of G1 and exclusives. I liked the Energon line more than any of the previous modern lines, such as Beast Wars/Machines, RiD, or Armada, so I decided I wanted some. I set out the following priorities:

 

1. One of each original mold introduced in Energon

2. The recolors of the figures I really liked.

3. All store exclusives

4. Skipping non-exclusive Armada repaints

5. Skipping Minicons

6. Skipping Non-Transformers

7. Purchasing whatever I find on sale

 

 

I actually have a more complete collection than I ever expected to have. Picking up Overcast and the last two Constructicon limbs recently, I'm basically done aside from finding things on sale.

Mine is nearly completed as well though I skipped out on many of the repaints.

 

Will try to get Tidalwave/Treadbolt though since I skipped em in the Armada series.

i only have slugslinger the 3 combiners and starscream =( i stopped when i saw galaxy force shots!

i still got loads to get. its impossible to get a hold of them in the uk so i have to buy them from some retailers in the usa

Yeah, that's an impressive collection. I do the same-- I hate repaints so I almost never buy them. But this time, I bought the Starscream repaint, because the original G1 colors look great on him. The only thing I have to get left in Energon is a few more limbs for my combiners (more repaints... sigh)

I actually don't mind repaints. I'm a G1 guy, and anyone remember Starscream/Skywarp/Thundercracker, or Prowl/Bluestreak/Smokescreen?

 

Certain figures that I really liked I always intended on getting all of, like Landmine/Landquake, Megatron/Galvatron, Shockblast/Sixshot for example. Depending on the recolor, I might be inclined to get future repaints of some of these.

 

Other figures I wasn't terribly impressed with, like Energon Prowl or Jetfire. I was just going to get the best of the colors, K-Mart B/W Prowl and Overcast for example, and skip the originals. I found them on sale in two packs so I bought those anyway.

I know I'm not going for the complete Energon collectiion, I like Energon but I passed on pretty much all of the repaints (excepts for a couple such as Galvatron and Stastcreme) as I just cant afford them all. I also foud myself passing on a lot of moulds as well but mostly stuff like Demolishor although I still have yet to decide weather I'm going to pick up the combiners or not.

I'm an Energon near-completist. My conditions are all molds and redecos which are considered different characters by Hasbro with the exception of Omega Sentinel since he is too damn big. I don't care whether they are the US or Japanese version, whatever's available. So far here are the stuff I'm still hunting down:

 

- Overcast (or Superlink Jetfire Super Mode)

- Sixshot

- Alpha Quintesson

- Quickstrike

- Landquake

- Constructicons (planning to get the EX-01 giftset)

 

Some optional stuff:

- Superlink Shadowhawk Cosmo Type (I'm pretty disappointed that Hasbro didn't release redecos of these guys)

- Superlink Chrome Horn (Ditto)

- Superlink Paradron Medic
