Got one of those Motorcycle Die-Cast "transforming robots" off of Ebay a while back, just for the hell of it. I started thinking about ways to better his bot mode, as the factory version sucks. By unscrewing the handlebars, and reattaching the bars to the side of the tire, you can make a pretty menacing gun... and then you can flip the front of the bike over, and get it out of the way of the bot's face. The orange that's already on this one prompted me to start thinking "Alt. Wheelie"... but I'm wondering if anyone thinks he's worth spending the time to paint... opinions?

 

BTW, I don't plan on doing much, if any, remolding. I'm not really good at it, and would rather not bother on this one...

 

Really, my main problem is the necessity of using a screwdriver to transform him. I suppose I could replace the screw with a properly sized peg though... thoughts?

yes one. why Wheelie!?didn`t you get enough of the rhyming little orange bugger in G1?other then that, I happen to have that toy(well, obviously not your exact one, but another of the same model and coloring) and I think that with a bit of work on joints it could make an awesome little ninja type character.incidentally, it`s my intend to make him that too btw.

I agree totally. I also think he would make a great STREETWISE or LIGHTSPEED. Anything...anything but WHEELIE.

Well, Wheelie seemed to fit for a few reasons. One, he's a motorcycle, on which one can do a "wheelie". Two, in bot mode, this guy is a bit shorter than the alternators, making it logical to use it for a minibot charachter. Three, G1 Wheelie's toys was one of the worst in the line, so obviously the litte guy could do for an upgrade. And four, I felt it would be fitting to "upgrade" him into a crappy, KO figure with crap articulation, so as not to stray too far from the original.

 

Besides, I kinda like Wheelie, for some reason... Not much, but a little.

I say go for it. I think it would be cool to see a custom Wheelie made to look cool. I'd make one too if I ever see an Alt mode fitting for him. That bike bot looks like it can work.

Cool. :thumb I saw that exact same bot at a little shop today selling for $13.00 Canadian. And I walked away. :lol
