Subject: Tempus Prime

 

History:

 

Before I describe Tempus himself, the events that brought him to our time must be explained. By his own admission, he became a Prime in less than pleasant circumstances. In a future where Unicron’s followers, led by Nemesis, had overrun Cybertron, he was a member of a resistance group, fighting desperately to survive. When Xenon Prime, his commander, was defeated by Nemesis, Tempo (Tempus’ previous form) was trapped underground with the dying mech. The Matrix flame was passed and Tempus arose.

 

He rallied the surviving Cybertronians and, with the unexpected help of the Hub Empire, drove Nemesis from our world. But the Primary herald retreated only as far as the moon Primon, where he began opening a dimensional portal to bring his master into the physical universe once more. Tempus confronted Nemesis and after a brutal struggle, both were caught in the time/space rift and torn into the past. This apparently fatally disrupted the Chaos god’s return, but at a great cost. Tempus claims that the last thing he saw was Cybertron dying as it was caught in Unicron’s destruction.

 

Tempus arrived in our time and has begun a crusade against Nemesis in the hope of averting his future, aware all the time that may well destroy him as well.

It is said that the Matrix moulds its holder into a leader who fits with the current state of our race. In the case of Tempus Prime, this has been proven true. In his time, a warrior was needed and so one was forged. Heavily armed and armoured, a superb field commander and leader, with a brilliant grasp of tactics and strategy, Tempus has drawn on the Matrix’s knowledge to an extent that even I thought impossible. It courses though him, driving him onwards when all hope seems lost. He will look out for his allies and show no mercy for his enemies, using every skill at his disposal to achieve victory.

 

Yet this driven nature, this cold, brutal detachment often unnerves others. He is from a time where Autobots are as much a warrior race as the Decepticons are now. Because of this, he is ostracised to an extent that not even the Dinobots feel comfortable around him. I fear that in his quest to destroy the chaotic evil that is Nemesis, he will be left as soulless and surrounded in shadow as the First Herald ever was.

 

Abilities:

 

Tempus’ strength is immense. It is highly likely that even Galvatron at the height of his power could overwhelm him in a purely physical contest. His armour is extremely strong, capable of withstanding vast pressure and exposure to radiation that would wipe out a normal Autobot. Weaponry wise, he is a walking arsenal, capable of unleashing plasma cannons, machine guns, grenade launchers, rocket launchers, laser cannons, blade throwers and energo-swords, to name only his primary arrays. His intelligence and combat skills back up his physical strengths; he reacts and thinks far faster than normal Autobots. He transforms into an anti-gravity assault vehicle, capable of great speed and armed with rocket launchers and plasma cannons. The Matrix in his time had been distilled to a pure form of energy. It infuses his entire form, creating a reasonable resistance to the ‘chaos magic’ used by Unicronians. Some of our scientists also theorise that this energy nullifies causality around him, meaning it is not certain that he will be destroyed along with his timeline.

 

Weaknesses:

 

Tempus is extremely focused and single-minded. He will fight on and on, even when all is lost. Despite his powers, he is not invincible and I am not sure that he will be able to carry out his aim of fighting and killing Nemesis. His alienation from other Autobots leaves him to fight alone, though this does not detract from his abilities.

 

Finally, I fear that if Tempus Prime kills Nemesis and remains in existence, he will be left a broken being, devoid of purpose.

I like very much the approach you've taken desing and character wise. I wonder what other Autobot leaders would look like in other type of circumstances, following the lead of your fic.
