Alt Deadend/Wheeljack repaint

Recommended Posts

This is my interpretation of how I thought Wheeljack could have looked. Don`t get me wrong, the new Alt Wheeljack that`s coming in May is pretty cool but I always thought from the beginning this body style fit him more than the linebacker look he has now. Yes I know alot of people don`t like alot of decals and ads on cars. As in the case of Decepti-drag-charge-thrust-strip. But I do. Maybe that`s why I like BT Smokescreen alot. I love the paint job on him too. Much better than the plastic Alt.

First up is the model I based him on. It`s a 1996 Dodge Viper GTS-R competition coupe. IMO, As soon as I saw the colors, decals and overall layout/design of this car, I thought Wheeljack.

Anyhoo, here are the pics;

I know the version I`ve done is not the exact same of the car pictured above, I only based him off of it.

At one time I had all of the decals on my car just the same as the real car but it looked too busy for a car of 1:24 scale. It looked a little cluttered so I took some off.

Just for the hell of it I threw on a bumper sticker with G1 Wheeljack`s quote.

Just a quick comparison shot of both competition coupes.

Another comparison shot of the wheels. I added some thinned out black enamel to the rims on my Wheeljack to give it a little more depth and character rather than the high showroom shine of Deadend. I guess you could also say it`s brakedust and/or roadgrime.

And finally bot mode. Wheeljack in all his glory feeling a little naked withou his weapons.

I altered the current Wheeljacks head with a slight repaint to try to resemble that from the G1 toon as much as the new head sculpt would allow.
