Alternators arcee

Recommended Posts

Have been wanting to do an alternators arcee for a while now and with windcharger being so readily available in the UK I was seriously considering buying one to repaint (a la 2 fast 2 furious) into arcee. However, on closer inspection I think that it may be worth waiting for drag strip to base the custom on as he has both the spoiler, alloy wheels and body to suit the 2F2F car. What do you guys think as I could start today with windcharger but would need to make more modifications. (and the wheels would be different)

id wait for dragstip. if you want a spoiler, windcharger isnt mde to have one and it would be hard to make it fold awayin robot mode,

unless you made a new spoiler, cut it in two, then put each half on his sholders.

mgith be wrth startign on windcharger, dunno if we wil get dragstrip in the UK

On further inspection I found that the dragstrip proto shots (courtesy of speedbuilt) have the 9-spoke wheels on whereas the toyfair shots have the same wheels as windcharger on. Does anyone know anything further about this? I'm starting to sway back towards windcharger as not only is he available in the here and now but I also found a shot of the 2F2F s2000 and it appears to have a black softop. If dragstrip is gonna have the same wheels anyway I may as well get windcharger now. Am thinking of custom building some kind of detachable spoiler which doubles as a crossbow type weapon - fitting as the energon arcee and action master arcee proto both had bow weapons. Any suggestions appreciated.

I`d use the Corvette mold like TF Master did.

It's too late!! I gave in to temptation and have purchased a windcharger. I'll have pics of progress next week. Lets hope I make more headway than I did with ford focus skids. (who still has issues to work out!!)

Have begun concept design. I'm gonna go ahead and make a custom spoiler that attaches where the cannon/driveshaft should - I don't like the way dragstrips jutts out in robot mode anyway. The head should be simple enough - remove the visor and add extra detailing tho the top and sides of the helmet, as well as a new face over the existing one. (withh some epoxy putty) Last major alteration will be the chest, (ahem) which may be a problem as in car mode the hands/head take up the space next to the chest. I'm working on a solution tho. I also thought of painting some areas black, such as the inside of the trunk door. This may make arcee seem a bit more feminine than she really is in bot mode. Over the weekend I'm hopefully gonna get the white/pink parts sprayed up. Will keep u posted.

I wish I could even find a Windcharger.

call me crazy but i wind charger is one of the biggist if not tallist alts and turning it into a fembot may look a little off maybe if you give it the black paint app's like in the first movie it could look good

Yeah, the broad shoulders spoil it a little but if posed correctly the legs can be made to look a bit more feminine. Although tall, when I placed WC on the shelf next to the likes of grimlock and hound he does look very skinny and has a distinct lack of depth/bulk/kibble.

On the plus side I dissected and began modifying him yesterday. The chest and head are done and they work fine in car mode. I'm quite proud of the head scpult which I did while the putty was still malleable rather thn waiting for it to harden and chopping bits off. I also added hood vents which will hopefully turn out OK. I'm not gonna mod the front grille as it will ruin the foot rtansformation.

I just need to tidy up a few edges, sort out the spoiler and mask it up for spraying. 2 coats of white, remasking and 2 coats of pink later the majority should be done. Then all that's left is to add the fine paint detail which will be a challenge in itself. Many years ago I used to paint citadel miniatures and so hopefully I still have enough eye for detail to give it a shot.

Photos early next week if I can borrow a digicam!

UPDATE! - Have sprayed half the car pink now and so just have to mask off the white parts which are inseparable from car parts so I can spray them as well. Will finish tomorrow I expect so will put up photos on Wednesday of the finished model just lacking detailed painting on the car.
