Light Pods for Alt Amokescreen

Recommended Posts

I was browsing model sights when I came across this:

lightpod.jpg

its a model kit for the 2001 Subaru WRC, which raced in Great Britain, and this model is specifically from the night stages. Those Light pods look pretty neat. you think they could be modified to fit Alt Smokescreen like a clip on accessory? Its 1/24 scale, but I dunno if the front end shape is close enough.

With something like those you could kitbash an Alternator Searchlight.

here's the specific link to the website it came from:

It's too bad its got a MSRP of $30+ otherwise I'd pick one up tp try to work.

I went to that site. The first thing I looked for was plastic military kits. All of the 1/25 scale kits are either glorified G.I. Joe dolls or discontinued tanks. Drat!

I'm sure there is someone here who could make them fit. Besides, there probably isn't a whole lot of difference between the 2001 and 2004 models.

well I know that in R/L, the biggest difference was in fact the front clip. I compared the two side by side at a local autocross that subaru sponsered last year.

The headlights on the 2004 are way bigger and different in design, along with added fog lights, and the god ugly big lipped hood scoop (older style was way more tasteful, IMHO)

Just comparing your pic to my smokes, the bumper is a bit different design, but I bet it's something a kitbasher could easily swap out.
