custom TFE bumble bee

Recommended Posts

hello all first off i'll admit I'ev had bumblebee here done for a least a month or so , but I'ev gotten lazy and never posted pics of him till tonight. I'll also post a spoiler pic of my 1 to 1 scale custom bumble bee alternator.

anyway so I felt inspired by the idea of the first DW gi\tf cross over of bumble as a motor bike sence , vw is all anti-war toys. I'ev been thinking to myself that he could use a descent upgrade, or at least a new toy you know ?

I got to looking at ole highwire shortly after I got him around christmas, and i noticed that his face plate and visor look a heluva lot like the g1 mini-bot ver of bumblebee. I had a little yellow paint left over from a failed attempt at an alt sunstreaker :tfmad. I was also still rideing the high left over from my magnus custom so with a little paint, a little fileing and some sculpty later. I ended up with a pretty descent looking hommage to everyones fav VW bug bot but now as a dirt bike. I was planning on makeing a spike to ride him but I could never decide on a gi-joe to custom in to him. :tdown Anyway without further adue

SPOILER WARNING !!!!!

Neat. :thumb

My only thought, was that you could've tried to make it more show accurate. But not everybody's into that. It's cool. I'm planning to turn my regular e. Hot Shot into Bumblebee, and switch parts with Energon Hot Shot, and when I get Cybertron Hot Shot, my Energon Hot Shot will turn into Bluestreak. :tfgrin :tfgrin

I like it. Alot. Of course, you would have to post this the day after I sent off my MOSC Kicker/Highwire set in trade. :tard The only one I bought, just for trading purposes, because until now, I had no desire to own Kicker or Highwire. Oh well... back to Target, crossing my fingers!

BTW, how much sculpey did you end up having to do? Doesn't look like a whole lot, was it just for remolding the head?

That's awesome! I would love to see a GI-Joe Spike to ride him! Or you could paint the blue on Kicker, yellow.

I also like how he's a homage to the actual toy instead of the cartoon apperance. :tftongue

more then it looks like but not a lot at all. I actully screwed up the resculpt a few times and had to start over. probabley the most annoying part was when i had the sculpty ALMOST cured, and it all fell off. I then had to use super glue to hold it on.

oh and as far as painting the kicker that came with him yellow, and blue. I'm afrade thats a no can do. You see i had two kickers, and donated the extra to my buddy AutobotWonko of TFD as a christmas present

Very original idea. I like it a lot, well done. :thumb
