Alternators

Recommended Posts

Anyone else have trouble getting parts to line up again when you transform them from car to robot and then back again? I'm especially having this problem with smokescreen. Anyone have a suggestion of how to fix that? I'm having them problem with sideswipe as well but not nearly as bad. Seems like Smoke's whole back end won't line up right again. It's mostly the passenger side.

I keep mine in robot mode all the time but on those rare occassions when I do transform them back to vehicles, they never line up exactly. Still with a little patience you can get it as close to perfect as possible. Usually its a matter of another piece slightly out of alignment somewhere that translates into an uneven vehicle mode. Just be patient and carefully poke and prod till you get it where you feel it works.

Smokescreen is definitely a Starscream to get back to car mode. I've had BT for months now (and just picked up the Alternator version), and it still takes me 5+ mins just to sort out his legs.

What is probably going wrong is some small differences in how you folded the legs up, especially nearer the back end. Basically, make sure the legs are in exactly the same position, else it won't be quite right. This is hard to do, but you should get it after some practice. I think it's easiest if you pull the legs out to full extension before you try and line them up.

Also, make sure the midsection is tucked up properly, the Alternator seems a bit worse for the midsection popping out from where it connects to the front section (along the bottom).

Hope this helps!

Not in particular; aligning the doors/body panels are a hassle sometime, but nothing too bad.

I also keep my alts in bot mode 90% of the time, but when a buddy comes over or something and wants too see them transformed, it takes a while too get them too line up.

Rubick's cube has nothing on Alternators.

But I believe that it is the complexity of this line that makes it so great. Let the younger generation have their easily transformed robots, these guys were made for the true Transformer connoisseur.

To learn the way of the Alternator, you must first learn the way of your own soul. You must embrace Patience. Time has no meaning. To a true student of the Alternator, a year is as a day. Let us gaze into the heart of the candle and meditate upon this wisdom. :D

It takes a lot of massaging to get the legs in the right position, but you get the hang of it eventually.

And yeah, my Smokescreen hangs out in bot mode most of the time too. Perfect toy.

I have no problems with Sideswipe, but Smokescreen can be tedious and nerve-wracking. I'm glad I have both Binaltech and Alternator versions of him. Alt ver is the way I'll go for now on. I nearly had a stroke chipping the beautiful paint job on him! I just keep BT boxed now.

Well what I do is try to align Smokescreens legs as best i can then push the crap out of the whole back part towards the front part and surprisingly enough, it works and it works good. The parts are lined up very staright and close to perfect
