Build Projects 2005

Recommended Posts

First off I've never kitbashed anything in my life but I am a veteren model builder. Two Transformers I want to attempt is an Alternator G1 Brawn, and an Alternator RID X Brawn. For starters I'm thinking of using 1.24 scale plastic models of a Jimmy/Blazer for X-Brawn and a Hummer for G1 Brawn. This will require a lot of cutting up of the models and such so my main concern is what works best when sectioning Models? I want to build this as close to the the RID transformation as possible and I'm not sure what Transformer would work best to kitbash or if I should use one at all. G1 Brawn I have some ideas for but that won't be for a while.

Right now I'm near finished planning my MP Prime trailer, and have most of what I need to build it. Since this will also transform into a base I have concluded that for this to work I'll need to develope as many as eight folding hinges for the upper level of the trailer, and two swinging hinges for the sides to open simililar to that of Armada Prime. Any ideas on how to do this or what works best?

Hummer which one, H1, H2, the Hummer truck?

Hm. I think this thread might be of interest to me, too, as I'm planning to build an Alt Seeker based on a 1/48 scale kit of a Su-35 or Su-37...

Wouldn't mind going with the H2, but all I ever see around here are H1's. Either way would work I guess.

My thoughts are that the H1 would suit Brawn better than the H2. Because the H1 was built to take a pounding whereas the H2 is built primarily for civilian use.

Yeah I'll probably go with the H1, it deffinety fits G1 Brawn's style. Expect the transformation to be slightly similar to both Energon Ironhide and Cybertron Jackshot. The G1 toy of Brawn isn't giving me a whole lot initiation to replicate the transformation scheme. The only thing I really want to keep the same is the backpack spare tire he sports because that's clasic.

The MP Prime trailer/autobot carrier I'm planning to build is nearing completion as far as planning/sketching goes. I've collected most of the materials including four pairs of 1.32 scale double wheels, and axles from a cheep Hot Rigz semi, and for the chassies I'm kitbashing two M.A.S.K. Rhino scout cars together, and running the axles through. With the scout cars I'm going to have to grind away the upper cockpit lip on both so they fit properly beneath the trailer. For some reason I have decided to go with 16 wheels opposed to 8. Anyhow that's it for progress. Hope I can get pics up shortly.

Have any plains for a Monte Carlo, maybe a black one?

No not really, Why?

No not really, Why?

I was thinking a race car could be made from it.

Maybe a formula-1 one, like Drag-Strip. :tftongue
